Smaller than expected

I used these little guys as "Lucky Ducks" to pick random students to answer questions in my classroom. (I just wrote a different name on the bottom of each duck and I keep them all in a tub together.) Normally, some kids can be kind of reluctant to participate in class, and being called on out of the blue can be a frightening experience for them. The "Lucky Ducks" seem to add enough whimsy to the experience to make it go from scary to exciting for the majority of students, who will actually be bouncing up and down hoping to be picked! Very cute. I think it also helps that by saying "I'm going to pick a Lucky Duck!" they are given some advanced notice that they might be called on. Plus, being called on is reframed as "Lucky!" My additional tip for teachers who might try this trick is that I actually used the colors to set up a leveled call-on system. I just chose which color duck to pair with which student by looking at their reading levels. (Blue=high, pink=struggling, etc.) It was subtle enough that my second graders didn't catch on, but it allowed me to strategically pick which students I was asking which level of question. I could make sure to check in with different levels this way, challenge the high kids, or help my struggling students answer a question that would help to boost their confidence. As for the quality of these little ducks, I was expecting them to be kind of flimsy, since I was buying in bulk, but they are actually great! I was prepared to take out ducks that were not nice enough to use, but I actually didn't find any. Each duck had a cute face, a little squeaker, and held up for the whole year. The material felt reasonably thick. I will say that when I gave the kids their ducks at the end of the year, the squeakers were removable. Several kids pulled them out to use as whistles. Due to this, I would be careful of giving these ducks to babies or toddlers. They are definitely potential choking hazards. For older kids, (with proper supervision), these should be a lot of fun! I'm probably going to buy them every year.

These rubber ducks are so cute! Excellent quality, and bright, pretty colors. The kids love them and they can't wait to play with them! They arrived in perfect condition. These are great for party favors. An excellent value for so many ducks.

Very cute and great colors. Come a little squished but they puff back up once they have space. They do have squeakers but most will not squeak- probably because the small size makes it hard to get enough air/force.

These little ducks are great for goodybags or to give as prizes for younger elementary age kids - they are small but a good size for little hands. I like the color variety and the quality is good. Good value for money, too. I’ve ordered these quite a few times now to give classes of elementary aged kids as prizes during a game and they’re always a hit
