Regular Keyed Alike Fuel Cap, black

I like this brand, but they need instructions in the box. My last Stant cap allowed for a half turn and then remove the key to lock, or unlock. This version locks or unlocks with the key turned, then you turn it back to remove it. I think I returned a perfectly good cap because I didn't know this was how it worked. I have to give it 4 stars just because of that, but it is a good product.

I purchased this lock on December 7, 2017, and the keyed entry is very difficult. Recently, I noticed rust and water mixed dripping out of the keyhole. The presence of rust means that this locking cap must be removed because it will fail soon. The cover for the keyhole stays open after use, making it difficult to insert a key and it allows water to get in the lock.

Locking mechanism is faulty. Every time I get gas it is harder to insert the key. I have had stant locking gas caps for year on other vehicles and never had this problem before.

Although Amazon asked for car information and said this was the proper cap, it wasn't!

Worked very good. Lock mechanism works smoothly and would be very difficult to remove without the key. The key could work a little smoother but really no problem.

This is the second one I bought for my truck and both had the same problem of not locking properly allowing you to remove the gas cap without a key! The gas cap should spin freely when locked so that nobody can remove the gas cap and sabotage your truck, costing thousands in repairs!
