Since I use the pillow as a side sleeper I position the pillow with the arm supports (for stomach sleeper) closest to the headboard of the bed... as turned the other way was offering too much lift. The pillow stays relatively cool , is not too heavy, is soft yet firm at the same time. I prefer the weight & support of this pillow over that of the water filled pillow that is too heavy and too much like a fiber filled pillow sitting on top of a water pillow.
