So-So Dog Chews
Charles here. If you have not read my reviews before (do you know what you’re missing?), I am the family dog, the connoisseur of all dog foods and treats. I am the expert! I am here to talk to you about these sweet potato chews. My sister, Cher, and I love sweet potatoes, so Mom thought these were a safe bet and bought them for us. I think they are all right. Not my favorite sweet potato treats, but not at all bad. My sister, however, does not like these. And I thought she’d eat anything! They smell good and they are chewy, but she still refuses them.Mom has some reservations. First, she warns that dog owners might want to supervise while their dog eats these. They are somewhat hard and brittle and could present a choking problem. Some of the pieces are small, and if a dog swallowed it whole, it could cause a problem. On the other hand, these are all natural and seem to be good quality. They contain vitamins and minerals. They have no added sugar, either. They are also good, because they clean my teeth. The package is generous and is so full, it is difficult to close. In my professional and expert opinion, I would give these only three stars.

Healthy Single Ingredient Snack, But My Dog Snubbed These
The Pawluxery Sweet Potato Treats were accepted, but not really loved by the Prince Papillon. Since my dog enjoys eating a variety of snacks - including vegetable based snacks - I was expecting my dog to receive these with open jaws, but instead was rewarded with a courtesy sniff, a small sample, then a snub. My dog really didn't care all too much for these non-meat snacks. He did end up returning after a while to eat the snack, but I think it was more of a "it's there, I'm bored, so I'll eat it" kind of reaction. I tried to offer it to him again a few times, and the reaction is always the same. He'll eat it, but he won't do any work for these treats. In terms of ingredients, this treat is as simple as it gets: sweet potatoes and that's it. These are made in the US, and include the full sweet potato, skin and all. Like all snacks, doggie reaction will vary, so your dog may like these more than my dog. As it stands however, I don't think my dog will allow me to keep these in the treat rotation, so we're going to pass these treats on to our doggie friends and see if they like them.

Crazy hard and dry
Our dogs love sweet potatoes. When we had a farm, they frolicked on the land, choosing sweet potatoes over any other vegetables. It didn't matter if they were rotting or freshly dug up, that was a favorite and they would munch one or two if they were small. These "treats" are hard as a rock, virtually unbreakable, so I wonder why the bag contains so many teensy tiny little pieces. They are thick rippled slices of white sweet potatoes from the USA, skin intact, with nothing else added. So, why can't a human eat these, too? Makes me wonder about how they were grown and in what soil. Anyway, the Shih Tzu loved the one she tried, but because she has a limited number of teeth now, she had to really work on it. The other two with all their teeth had an easier time. They all prefer jerky when presented both side by side.

Good idea, hit-or-miss in practice
It's hard to fault these treats. They're made in the USA, which has been a popular movement lately. They're all-natural. The ingredient list is the simplest I've seen (Literally "Ingredients: Sweet Potato"). The price is in that sweet spot where it's affordable but not so cheap you're suspicious. The treats themselves are large enough for big dogs like my neighbor's german shepard but small enough for my dachshund. There's just one problem: the dogs won't eat them. And my dog eats almost anything. She at the first one I gave her and has snubbed them ever since.I can't give these treats a great review since my dog seemingly hates them, but I'm also willing to bet that some other dogs out there will like them, and there's a lot to recommend them. You really just have to have your dog try them to see if they'll work better for you than they did for me.

Our doodle loves these. Like every other sweet potato dog treat we've tried...they are extremely hard - Made & Sourced in USA
Our medium sized labradoodle loves sweet potatoes so I decided to try these snacks. These sweet potato treats for dogs are shaped like wavy potato chips. I could smell the sweet potatoes when I opened the bag.Our doodle likes these, but like every other treat with sweet potato in it, these are very hard. I definitely would not feed these to an older dog because I'd worry about his/her teeth breaking. The only ingredient is sweet potatoes & they are prepared with the skins on.I don't know why, but the sweet potato in every treat we've given our doodle has been very, very hard. These are no different. Even soaking them in warm water doesn't soften them much. She loves these, but I probably won't get another bag because they're extremely hard.Ingredients:Dehydrated Sweet Potato w peel (shaped like wavy potato chips)Made & Sourced in the USA

A healthy treat that my dog loves!
After an uncertain start (unlike with other treats my dog approached these slowly), my dog has taken quite a liking to these sweet potato treats. I like that they're essentially just dried sweet potatoes without the long list of added fillers and ingredients or sugar. She likes the flavor a lot. They look almost like a thick, ruffled potato chip though they are harder than they look and my dog gets as much workout for her teeth as she'd get with a Milkbone. These sweet potatoes are a healthy way to reward your dog. It's funny: all my previous dogs loved carrots so I used those as a healthy treat but this one won't touch one. One sniff and she walks away. So I'm glad there's a natural vegetable treat that she'll eat. These are definitley worth a try for your dog!
