These are a bit long for our steak knives, but other than that they are perfect to protect the cutting edge on our high quality steak knives. No need for a big, clunky, ugly knife block wasting counter space any more.

I always had my knives in a block on the counter and now I have a knife drawer which the knives, with the edge guards, fit wonderfully. I don't like knife blocks on my counter....to much room. I like to put my knives in a drawer but that is not real good for the blades. This was the solution. Each knife is protected, and it is safer for me as well. I know my knives well enough to know which is which, but I think it would be easier to write on the covers. To choose the set, we measured each knife and found the covers to fit all. This set was great for our knives
