Quite entertaining.
Loving this series. I enjoy mysteries and FBI series. This is such a nice change of pace. It makes me smile and look forward to the next book. The characters are fun and I enjoy getting to know them. I will miss them when the series ends.

Interesting twists and insights
Good 2nd installment into a somewhat predictable trilogy. The heroine continues a journey of finding herself again, with interesting old friends and new beaus. Predictably, her new beau is rich and gorgeous, she is gorgeous and successful, and they get into a misunderstanding. Typically, she retreats and imagines the worst, before he can finally make it right. But her emotional journey, characters of her friends, and Aunt, plus twists in the plot, keep me reading. I give it a better than average 4.

The London Flat
Very well written. A pleasure to read. Such a pleasant experience to read something these days that isn't a bedroom scene every three paragraphs. I highly recommend this book and this author... now on to more adventures

Love this trilogy
The London Flat: Second Chances (The Irish Heart Series Book 2) is by Juliet Gauvin. This portion of the series takes place in London after Beth has taken a tour of Ireland after Connor has left for Africa.Beth Lara has taken up photography after Connor gave her a camera. She found she was intrigued by composing and then editing her photographs. After having been immersed in her law career for ten years, she found herself wanting to reconnect with old friends she had ignored over those many years. Would they ever forgive her for ignoring them? Could she ever forgive herself for getting so immersed in her law career that she missed out on life. Now she just has to find her old friends in London and see if they want to reconnect with her.Connor Bannon had left Ireland to go to Africa to try to find antiquities to purchase for his business. He had also left to put a little distance between himself and his “Lara”. He had to decide just how far in this relationship he wanted to go and how to convince Lara to figure out how to make it work. When he left, Beth knew that it was probably over for them. She could see no way for it to work out. Her life was in America and his was in Ireland. However, for Connor, the trip showed him exactly what he wanted- Lara. He cut his trip short and headed home. However, he made a detour to Paris where he was photographed with a well-known model and, of course, it made the tabloids. What happened to his intentions towards Lara?As Beth reconnects with her old friends, she tries to put the picture of Connor kissing another woman out of her mind. Of course, he had come back from Africa early; but not to her. She has to get him out of her mind and her life.At first, I doubted this series would be very good except maybe for taking me back to Ireland and England and later Paris; but it has turned out to be a very interesting series which looks at the dynamics of relationships. Some relationships can withstand the distance of continents and others the distance of years. It makes one really think about the friendships that have been left by the wayside. Can they be retrieved? Would you want to?

I downloaded The Irish Cottage because of my own Irish heritage and love of all things Irish
I have never been a romance reader. I downloaded The Irish Cottage because of my own Irish heritage and love of all things Irish, and honestly because it was free. I purchased her second book and will momentarily be purchasing the third. Despite the fact that Ms. Gauvin's books definitely fall into the romance catagory, I have found them completely captivating. Elizabeth Lara is a character full of vibrancy and strength. Her journey on the path of self realization has enough fantasy and mystery to leave me wanting more, yet the character herself has enough realism to make the story believable. I am an avid reader, but this is my first review. Any author who can so easily pull me into a genre in which I have very little interest and compel me to purchase two more books in said genre is one deserving of respect. These books are well written, and I am extremely glad I gave them a chance. I will certainly be excited to read more of her work in the future and look forward to starting the final part of Miss Lara's journey of self discovery right away.

Pretty rough sophomore slump
First book was quite an enjoyable beach read. Good vacation book, good romance. Then we enter the second book and it got rough. Suddenly it’s no longer about the quest, grief over Mags and falling in love. This book is just about money. Every single description. The house? What color is it? What’s the decor? No idea but it’s 10.5 million. She gets a dress. Is the description the style of dress or sweetheart neckline? Nope but it’s 20,000 euros, an exclusive designer and the most expensive dress ever. Calls friends she hasn’t spoken to in a decade and they all put their careers on the line to give her a million dollars. She’s hanging out with royalty, accidentally meets the queen, gets tickets to every gala in town. Every single description made her sound like a greedy gold digger. Totally unlike the last book. Really unlikeable and she doesn’t care about her quest at all so finally someone else just tells her the answer. At the unsatisfactory ending of the second book, I’m not tempted to read the third. Kinda hoping Connor moves on.

Cliff Hanger
I don’t like book that end with a cliff hanger as this one did. Problem is that I now have a great need to know the end of the story. I will read one more but I don’t like being pressured to purchase yet another book in the series

Great story telling.
To be able to make the second book better than the first is a difficult task in writing a trilogy. Juliet does this with style and great story telling skills. I applaud your talent and look forward to book 3. Thank you for the enjoyable hours of reading you gave to me and everyone else.

Another lovely glimpse into the charmed life of Miss Lara
Having read the Irish cottage I got this and the third book in the series and have just read this in one sitting. I think what I love about it is the distraction from reality.she seems like a normal girl but the things that happen to her are so far fetched and she moves in a world where money is no object and everyone is beautiful. The same reason I loved the tv show 90210! It's a wonderful escape from reality and I'm looking forward to reading the next book to see what happens her in Paris. Just one tiny niggle is the repeated use of the word weary where it seemed like it should've been wary but that could just have been some kind of auto correct and it didn't take away from the story.
