SVBONY Reticle Telescope Eyepiece, 1.25” LED Illuminated Eyepiece 40 Degree

Exactly want I wanted for a finder scope reticle. I don't really care for red dot finders. I looked and looked for what I wanted in a finder scope and could not find one I liked off the shelf and decided to build my own. And a light-up crosshair reticle was definitely on my list of parts. This reticle fit right into my build: All SVBONY from stem to stern: SV165 guide scope, 1.25" SV188P dielectric mirror diagonal and this Illuminated Reticle. I now have a finder scope that is f/4 and 12.8x40 with a nice field of view. The light-up, double line crosshair really lets me know when I've "centered target in finder" quickly and easily. It just works when you have the finder aligned to your OTA. The adjustment of luminosity to the reticle is great. I never need more than minimal luminance in the dark, but having it get as bright as it does really helps with daytime lunar acquisition. I'm not sure why this item isn't rated higher. The price is good. It does what it is supposed to do. Easy to use. Universal 1.25" fit. The focus adjustment is a great feature. I have clear sharp views and have no sense of the eyepiece being a bottleneck to light transmission.

Works as advertised. The crosshairs light up nice and it seems very accurate. I like the dimming feature and there is a "focus" adjustment to bring the crosshairs into good focus. I wish the battery pack/switch was smaller. Overall good product at a reasonable price. I could spend more and probably get something better but being an armatures armature I try to keep things cheap.

Very nicely made, brightness adjustment works well and the reticle is clear and visible. Make sure you insert the batteries with the right polarity, labelled flat side out when you insert them. Eyepiece even has a focus adjustment.

The product that I received had a little problem. The illuminator did not fit the lens body properly. The seller took proactive action and reached out to me first and worked very hard resolve the issue. The replacement I received did not have any problem and it works very nicely. However, after not using a few month when I tried to use it agina, the light came on and off. I thought it was the battery, but replacing the batteries did not solve the problem. I took it apart to find out what is causing the problem. The problem was faulty wiring as in the attached picture. The wire was soldered very poorly and it worked only when it was touching the soldering point. It is still covered under warranty. I hope they can would honor the warranty. When it worked, it worked really nicely. I use this eyepiece to align my telescope with stars. The double line cross-hair works very nicely. It increase accuracy of goto functionality of the telescope and alignment accuracy of the finder scope very much. == update ======= The seller (Retevis direct) replaced the unit at a small fee honoring the warranty. It is great customer service experience. Thank you again.

I needed a cross-hair eyepiece to better center my scope when doing alignments. I bought this knowing there is a strong relationship between cost and quality in eyepieces. There are higher-quality eyepieces that have the same function. It was within my budget at the time. So I took the risk. This eyepiece does what I originally needed it to do. I have since used the eyepiece to view the moon and was pleasantly surprised at the clarity. Any upgrade will have to have value well above the value of this one.

Works fine, but quality is lacking. After reading reviews of the Celestron and Orion models, I really believe this is the exact same product without the name on it. It has the same issues as the name brand versions but is a lot cheaper. Use a little plumber’s Teflon tape to get rid of the jiggle, just like in the more expensive models. I only use it for alignment, so it should be fine for that purpose. For the price I paid, the quality is not bad and it works.

For what I paid for this Svbony reticule EP, I reckon I got more than my money's worth. The build for the laser seemed a bit iffy but has proved to be durable enough. The eyepiece is a strange one. The crosshairs are perfectly placed and illuminate as they should but I found myself regretting their presence. For a time this was the best EP I owned at this focal length and the crosshairs were a bit of a distraction. Still, now it sees regular service aligning my GoTo mounts and dialling in the various finders I use. Functional, accurate, and affordable.

I purchased this for the sole purpose of aligning my push-to computerized telescope at the start of a viewing session. It should serve well for any other visual alignment related needs with a telescope. The crosshairs light up well, and you can adjust the brightness with a twist of the knob at the end (which also turns the light on and off). You do need to focus the eyepiece to see the crosshairs clearly, but this is easily done by spinning the top of the eyepiece until the crosshairs are sharp in view. The value on this eyepiece is great for me, as other crosshair / reticle eyepieces sell for almost twice as much. It spends relatively little time installed in my telescope, as it goes back in the case once I've aligned my telescope for the night. Stars focus as clear points of light, and that's all I need.

Lens quality great, illuminator very good design with ability to see object through crosshairs making centering a breeze

Por el momento le encontré dos usos muy útiles: 1) alineación más precisa con el finder y 2) para la puesta en estación ayuda mucho con los sistemas GoTo para calibrar el apuntado de estrellas de referencia.

The screw thread on the light housing doesn't match the thread in the body of the eyepiece. So it doesn't really fit properly although it still basically works. Also there no battery guide to show which way to install them meaning some trial and error to get it working.

Es un gran producto, tiene buena calidad y costo muy competitivo. Bastante simple de usar y ajustar, tiene enfoque de la retícula y selector de intensidad de la iluminación en la retícula. Un elemento imprescindible a la hora de obtener una buena alineación tanto en monturas GoTo como Ecuatoriales. Completamente recomendable.
