I have used Florastor brand for probably eight months now. On vacation I could not find the exact one I was using but bought this one as my second choice which now IS MY FIRST CHOICE. I have had many pro and pre-biotics but this one is the VERY BEST. It has practically fixed all my gut problems that I've had my whole life and I am 70 years old. I honestly don't know what this one has that the other types of this brand has, but this one works best for me. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Regardless of the cost, try it. It's worth every penny. I have a subscription now.

I purchased Florastor Probiotic after a family member experienced C-diff following antibiotic treatment. It was recommended as a Level 1 probiotic in a clinical guide available in the U.S., which gave me added confidence in choosing it. Medical staff also confirmed that it is an excellent option, which reassured me even further. While it is more expensive than many other probiotics, the cost feels justified knowing it has proven success in clinical trials and is widely trusted in medical settings. For me, that level of evidence and professional support matters more than price alone. Since starting it, we’ve noticed positive improvements in overall gut comfort and digestive balance. It has been a helpful addition, especially during and after antibiotic use. Overall, I feel it’s a high-quality, reliable probiotic worth the investment.

I am going to get really direct here. If you don't want to hear about bowel habits, you probably don't want to read this review. I started taking these, because I have trouble sometimes with being very regular with my stools. Since childhood, I have tended to get constipated every week or two, feeling bloated and heavy, and having very hard stools when I could go again. I have actually had anal fissures in the past, because of how hard some stools were. I started taking another probiotic in the morning several weeks before I started taking this one in the evening: which has prebiotics and probiotics. At first, adding these seemed to help even more with softening stools, minimizing gas pain and bloating, and regulating me to go every day or two. I no longer have any signs of fissures. Now that I have been taking them for about 2 months, I seem to have settled back into my historical habit of only going every 3 days or so. However, it is easier to go, even though the stools are bulkier. I may go back to only taking the morning probiotics (the other type I have reviewed here), just so I am only buying 1 kind of probiotic: a) the other brand is cheaper, b) the other brand seems to help enough on its own, and c) these capsules are freaking HUGE, and sometimes difficult to swallow if they turn 'sideways' at all as I'm swallowing them. I do have a small mouth (jaw and throat). You definitely should take these with at least ten ounces of water, and I personally try to drink at least 16-20 ounces when trying to take them, to be sure they are washed down thoroughly. I drink a LOT of water every day. Adding to the bulk of my stools has not been a problem because they are enough softer (with all that water) that they rarely cause any pain at all anymore. All in all, these work to aid digestion and minimize constipation, but they are very large for me to swallow. They are in an easily recyclable glass bottle, so that is an additional advantage to these, but not enough to make up for their size and cost. If I took two of these per day, as suggested on the bottle, note that a whole bottle would last only two weeks.

I ordered these after listening to a doctor online talk about them and how they made a fantastic homemade fizzy, pop-like fruit juice drink. I simply open and add one capsule to some fruit juice, gently stir it up, lightly cover the jar, and in a day or so, I have made my own pop that is good for me and my digestion. These capsules do the job. So glad I ordered them.
