A Pittsburgh Modular synth voice in a portable package for under $250? Just take my money already!
This is a fantastic little synth! I have enjoyed every moment of making music with this thing. I have it strapped to a board being controlled by an OP-Z and it works without a hitch. The 1/8” trs midi connections make it easy to connect with other gear and the CV patch points can send to other eurorack modular. It makes for a great lead or bass synth, it has a great sounding filter, and the extensive functions of the internal keyboard make it a no brainer for any level of synth seeker. I would 10/10 recommend this for anyone looking for an easy intro to modular synthesis, as well as any intermediate producers that need a good analog synth to give that vibe to productions. Additionally, this is perfect for a synth tweaker like myself to add new layers to an already extensive collection of analog pieces. It does try sounding like anything but itself. I have a Pittsburgh oscillator and filter in my eurorack, so seeing a complete synth voice for this price was a must have. It fits with all my other gear and serves as a great sounding analog bass for my portable rig.

May not fit in your case
The feature set is solid for the price and the filter is really great. I liked how each module is fully patchable on its own. However it didn’t fit in a mantis case as the circuit board is just slightly too long. As a standalone desktop synth it’s phenomenal, but didn’t work for me in my kit. I would highly recommend it even though it didn’t work for me.

The East Beast is a Feast
Oscillator is good (I really like the FM knob), but the filter is where it's at. Obviously, it's a subtractive synth, so they better had nailed it. And they did -- no dead spots. Go up and down the frequencies and it sounds great. And of course, it's a semi modular, so you will want to run some of your other stuff through this filter.

Great mono synth
The only thing I wish it had was sequencer lights.

Sounds great, get started with it!
Excellent analog sounds in subtractive, East Coast style. The beauty of this semi modular format is you can play it on it's own or mount it in your eurorack and expand it's possibilities. Here I mixed a Big-O back into the Beast filter to add a detuned saw wave.
