This iron does get very hot but as a result it quickly straightens my wiry gray hair to a smooth finish.

I have a pixie cut and love this. It is small and easy to handle. It gets hot enough to make a real curl if you want it or just use it as a straight iron. It comes with an insulated case to protect counters etc from heat but I prefer to use a silicone sleeve for extra caution. The iron is well made. It does not have a locking clamp to keep it shut or an automatic shut off so if these things are important to you, you should pass. I think it is a great little iron and I use it every day, not just for travel

I like the size for travel and the dual voltage feature. It does however get very hot and there is no temperature control - only on or off -so be aware if you are purchasing.

Buyer beware! Unless somehow this doesn’t make any difference to you and your hair, this pretty little curling/flat iron has ONE TEMPERATURE and it is screaming HOT, with nothing in-between. The tiny sheet of product info confirms “Fixed temperature” ( like that’s a good thing?!?) and that is no kidding! I’m not willing to fry my rather fine texture hair or imagine how serious the inevitable curling iron burns would be, if/when any part of this might touch any scalp or skin around the hairline on my face or forehead! This dangerous tool is being returned asap!!

I really like this flat iron but I wish you could touch the top ends to turn it it you needed to without burning your fingers

great little flat/curling iron! It gets hot quickly. You have options on how much curl you want, because you can twist your hair around the outstide of the iron if you want a fuller (but still small diameter) curl. The included heat safe travel pouch was an unexpected bonus, as well as what looks like a European power adapter included. I'd say the diameter of the barrel is 1-1.5 inches. This is going to be super helpful for touch ups after getting sweaty at workouts! The price was great too.
