Fits tight and easy to use
Works great and easy to use. Easy to install, holds up well over the winter, and fits nice and snug. Definitely would recommend!

ALMOST a good seal
I like the concept of not having to drain our pool every winter. Tried this plug for the first time. It seemed to have sealed nicely against the pool wall and no water was visibly leaking. However, after a month it began to leak, slowly, and eventually had a skimmer of frozen water as the leak would slowly freeze. Not sure what the answer is but don't like risking a frozen skimmer.

Finally a plug that fits perfectly and WORKS.
I have tried different solutions to winterize my pool, including having to drain down to skimmer level to have an empty skimmer line. This is the perfect solution!! DO measure from inside your pool and make sure its the right size. ITS A TIGHT FIT, which is what is needed to seal properly. Highly recomend

Worked very well - until the pool froze - now water leaks and has frozen possibly damaging my skimmer!
The plug was quite tight but it fit and kept the water out when I installed it back in October. It was great not having to lower the water level when we closed the pool! Unfortunately, as soon as the water on the pool cover froze, I saw a long icicle coming out of the bottom of the skimmer. When the weather warmed up again, the ice melted and now there is a continuous drip from the skimmer - almost a little stream. Thus I'm assuming the skimmer plug failed in some way. Hoping the leak and ice didn't damage the skimmer itself! Not sure what happened - will report back in the Spring when I take off the cover. :-( Edited on 2/8/14 to add - I'm reducing this review to ONE STAR because I see the same thing (leaking water) happened to another customer with the same product in a different size. Now I'm very worried the skimmer itself will show cracks in the spring which will involve a very expensive repair, sigh. Save yourself the trouble, and don't buy this product. Next fall I plan on using my tried-and-true method of lowering the water level to below the skimmer to prevent leaks and ice. :-(
