I haven't used this in the field yet, but I think it will work well at the beach or in gravel areas. I like that it's plastic, should help in finding metal objects. Has a good grip and reasonably priced.

Great price for a handy scoop and shovel for the "tot lots" and beaches we metal detectors detect at. good sand sifter and the shovel came in handy as well. Durable plastic. Good value. I recommend it for beginners with beginner equipment because of the excellent price point.

This is a GREAT! VERY durable/tough. I had to clear a bunch of rocks to put down a towel and both items worked well for a quick clearing. I like that they are made of plastic for my metal detecting adventures. And all around just fun to play with on the beach looking for rocks or shells.
