The scoops were easy to use. We took them on a beach trip while digging for treasures! The kids loved them. The 1 scoop is a little bulky for packing but appropriate for functionality. I highly recommend pairing them with the set of 4 colorful mesh bags I’ve reviewed.

I'm excited to use these on our upcoming trip. Quality is good, it seems nice and durable. I did expect these to have a little weight to them like a durable heavy duty plastic would but they are pretty light. I don't think thay'll take away from it's performance though. I can't imagine this not working as it should. So far, I'd say good value for the price point. I'll update when I put them to use.

I actually bought this for beachcombing rather than metal detecting, and it worked wonderfully for collecting small conch shells. I stood in knee-deep water watching for shells to tumble in with the waves. As each wave receded, I could quickly scoop up the shells before they rolled away again. It was especially effective for the little 3–7 inch conch shells that were constantly being moved around by the surf. The holes let the water and sand drain away almost immediately, leaving the shells behind instead of lifting a heavy scoop full of wet sand every time. It made shell hunting much faster and a lot more enjoyable. The photo is from one of my shell-hunting afternoons. I came home with far more shells than I expected because this scoop made grabbing them before the next wave surprisingly easy.

The shovel handle seems cheep other than that great product

Gave this as a gift to my niece who loves searching for rocks! Great quality/durable. Easy to use and will be helpful when it comes to gathering rocks and rinsing them off in the water if needed.

This is a perfect accompaniment for a youth’s metal detector. The sturdy plastic gets the job done and is lightweight making it easy to carry and use and strong enough to hold a substantial load of sand. Good price - good product

This set has proved extremely handy for metal detecting on the beach! When the detector sensed a metal object, it was easy to scoop up a jugful of sand, then scan the area again to determine whether the object was still in the ground or in the jug. If in the jug, you just tip everything out and smooth it down with the trowel until you find the piece. It works particularly well with fine sand (which just slips through the holes in the jug) - and invaluable if you detect something underwater, as the water drains through the holes when you scoop up sand / mud from under the water. The holes in the jug are a good size: big enough to allow for fast draining of water / dry sand but small enough not to 'lose' coins, rings etc through them. Both the jug and the trowel are made from sturdy plastic material ... the trowel isn't strong enough though to dig up dry or compacted soil (neither is the jug suitable for sifting that sort of material) but I thoroughly recommend for sand, shingle and rock pools!
