Does the part seat perfectly onto the grill its self or does it move around. And how does the grill lid sits?

The fitment is as good as the lid itself to the bowl on my weber performer, i used 1/2in x 1/8in lava lock fire black gasket to seal the lid and on the bottom of the onlyfire unit to the bowl. I have several of the onlyfire ad ons for my weber charcoal grill and have gasketed all of them on the lip that sits on the bowl and they all work great. I would recommend the gasket for alot tighter seal and lose of smoke. I hope this helps

Can u use a cooking grate instead of the hanger at the top?

yes there is places to put a cooking grate on top and in the middle. so you can use two cooking grates. when i purchased this it came with a cooking grate as well as the hanging rack. the rack from your weber kettle fits on the only fire .

Who has actually used it on a Weber smokey mountain

WorKs great on the kettle, so don't now why it wouldn't on the WSM.

will this fit a 22in weber smokey mountain vertical smoker?

I believe it does as long as its 22/22.5in in diameter. Fits my 22.5 weber performer fine. I also watched a YouTube video where a guy was using on a wsm
