Review: My Dad's been using Wyze cams around the house for a number of years already. Before buying my own, I'd already seen the v3's performance and was pleasantly surprised. Decided to bite the bullet and order some. I was going to begin bringing my dog over the road with me and wanted to be able to keep an eye on him while I was out of the truck and be able to look over the footage if anything ever happened. I've used it on and off and rather like it. Night vision is great, app UI is simple and easy to use. Honestly never quite figured out motion and sound triggers on the cameras, they never quite give me what I want but seeing as the cameras see constant movement that's a moot point in this use case. I *hate* the video recording on the app. I cannot believe I cannot chose a beginning and end timestamp and let it do it's thing. I have to sit through the play-through from beginning to end and cut it in real time. It's a pain and long recordings seem to make the app stutter after a while. Needless to say, a nice tool in my case. Not perfect, could use some tweaks, but it's still very nice. My mounting is done using RAM mounts threaded into the 1/4"-20 hole on the bottom, power provided by my 12v USB charger.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does the camera work without a subscription? I mainly want one for live video.**
A: You do not need a subscription, but if you want to save video you'll need to buy an SD card for the camera.  Even without the SD card, you can watch the cameras live 24/7.

**Q: Wired or wireless?**
A: The camera is powered via a USB cord (you can see this in the product picture).  The network connection requires 2.4GHz WiFi (there is no Ethernet connection, and 5GHz Wifi is not supported).  So it is "wired" but the only wire is the power wire.  Also, you will need a smart phone with 2.4GHz Wifi, as the setup process requires the WYZE smartphone app.

**Q: Will Wyze share information with law enforcement without permission from owner or warrant from a judge, like Ring has admitted to?**
A: If I was in a case where there was a wyze cam, knowing it automatically records vid and very good audio.  I would insist on a subpoena for that that info.  There is no reason a judge would refuse. The owner has no say unless it's obtained illegally by police in which case it would be illegal for them to posess or present it.

**Q: What's the largest sd card that wyze cam v3 can use? Can it use a 1tb micro sd card?**
A: Wyze Cam supports up to 32GB Class-10 microSD cards in FAT32 format. The camera will recognize larger cards that use exFAT. This compatibility is only available using Wyze Cam v3 firmware 4.36.8.15 or newer.

We have tested with cards up to 256GB when formatted as exFAT. Larger cards may work, but this has not been tested on our end.

Tengo 6 meses con él producto. Incluso instale 2 afuera de mi casa a una altura aproximada a 3 metros de altura, pero ya llovió en múltiples ocasiones, y se mantienen fijas y sobretodo funcionando en todo momento…. tuve que hacer unas perforaciones para que el cable quedase escondido, y un punto muy importante como sugerencia es comprarle una tarjeta micro sd para guardar de forma continua y así poder visualizar videos en un rango de tiempo.
