Piscifun Torrent II Baitcasting Reel, 20LB Drag, Magnetic Brake

Great choice for beginners and budget friendly

So I needed a saltwater baitcaster and didn't want to spend real money a baitcaster so I decided to get a very budget friendly baitcaster and see how long one will last. This one arrived and I am impressed with the Torrent 2. Everthing is well engineered and love the the size of the cranking handle. The one con I have is the shaft that holds the cranking handle/ internal gears us a little lose and moves in and out like a shim or bearing isn't to spec. and leaves a little sloppy movement in the cranking handle. This is Not a major problem as when fishing with the reel I dont notice it at all but my COD constantly makes think about it everytime I use it. For $30.00 it is a great reel.

These are cheaper reels. Keep your expectations reasonable. However, these reels are fantastic for the price range they fall under. I’ve been using both this reel and the first iteration for about 3 years. They’ve been very reliable, even after several good sized bass in Texas

Still smooth after many 8 hour trips of hard bass fishing! I use it for squarebill cranks and some deep cranks too! Very lightweight and built good.. For 35.00 it’s well worth it !

So I just received 4 more Torrent II’s for a total of 10. I have 4 of Ther Phantom serious that I believe is discontinued. I also have 8 of the larger bait casters but forget the new branding name lol!!!! Best reels ever, last longer than any $400 reel I have. I highly recommend any products that Piscifun has to offer!!!! I fish 2-4 times a week on the Texas Coast for Redfish and turn all my friends into customers!!! Please keep up the great work!!!!!! N

This is a great reel but it's the 100 size. They should put this in the product description. I wanted the 200 size. Rufus said it was the 200 size when I asked before i ordered. If you want the 100 size fast service you will get it in a day.

Great little reel! Im actually impressed at how good this reel performs for the price, had low expections for 60$ reel, paired it with some seaguar tatsu fluoro line, and wow, no backlash, long casts, its been great! I have it on a 7' medium power, tried different baits and fishing styles , and i really cannot complain. I ordered another one for my 7'6' medium-heavy, gonna see how the braid performs in it. This made me fall in love with baitcasters again.

Holds up very well when playing fish took it out and had a few pike and the drag is very nice over all the reel its self is very smooth

Own a number of high end reels and the Torrent II has quickly become a favorite. The overall feel of the reel is solid, casts well beyond what I expected and the retrieve speed means you won't wear your arm when casting all day. It sits a little higher in the reel seat than some other low profile reels but still feels good in the hand. Have already purchased another one and if you are looking for great value in a spanning reel -check out their Carbon II model.
