Great model looks good on train layout

You do get some bargains from Hornby and this is one of them. It is an extraordinarily well moulded little cottage(a Scottish crofter's cottage) with little extensions, one at the side and one at the back each with a red door. The building itself is a dormer bungalow with very attractive white textured walls which are realistically aged by darkening them at the bottom. The roof has lovely moulded grey tiles, as do the little roofs on the dormer windows and the little roof over the front porch, which is moulded to look like wood and is painted brown(with a red door). There are realistically moulded gutters and downpipes, all painted black, grey window sills as well as some lovely little side windows. All of the windows have glass(plastic) in them.Last, but not least, two gorgeous little terracotta chimney pots, one at either end. All of this, being Hornby is 1:76 scale OO gauge(Skaledale) for a model railway and does not require any assembly. Its normal price is about £32 but I snapped it up for a special offer price of £20, a real bargain. It's such a good model, probably easily worth the normal price of £32.

Mountaineering modellers will recognise this as the archetypal Scottish bothy - all it needs are the Mountain Bothies Association's trademark green doors and a door plaque !

Really effective rendition of a Scottish Croft - quite detailed and comes with a small amount of weathering around the apron to add realism.

Perfekte Nachbildung eines schottischen Croft in 1:76 (mit etwas Augenzudrücken passt das auch auf H0 1:87). Das Gebäude kommt fertig aufgebaut und sehr schön und bereits perfekt handbemalt daher. Das Foto ist leider völlig farbstichig (grün). In Realität kommt das Modell, wie beim echten Vorbild, mit weißen Wänden daher. Ein echtes Schmuckstück.
