For basic riding and bearing your weight through some medium trails, they’ll definitely hold up. If you’re dropping from huge heights I believe they should hold up. I don’t jump that high. I ride flats hard pedaling, and some modest to intermediate trails. I’m also 60yo not 22 and can’t screw up my retirement. You should be fine. They are exceptionally good looking and great functioning pedals. Bought several for different builds and recommend them wholeheartedly. These Gewage units, with their many grippy “teeth” are performing perfectly! Zero slippage, making a much safer ride. The build quality is superb, and they look great on my bike. An Allen wrench to install them is included, along with some extra “teeth”, and a small wrench to install or tighten them if needed. This is a very decent product, and at a good price!Update: I liked these pedals so much, that I ordered another pair (in another color) for my Trek Cross Country Mountain Bike. They work great, and my feet stick like glue to these pedals.One minor issue on the first pair: a bad ball bearing on one pedal made an annoying “clicking” sound when pedaling. Quickly exchanged them thru Amazon, and I’m quietly riding again.
