EXCELLENT FOR HANDICAP SHOWER ASSISTANCE
BEST SHOWER CHAIR EVER! My husband had an aluminum legged shower chair, given to us in 2021. I didn't know that aluminum would rust and didn't think to check it as it always sat firmly . I wish I would have looked at the areas where it was screwed together. Now - in 2025 - my husband leaned back to rinse and the chair broke - and separated - top back totally separated and he was on the floor (not good especially if you have a spinal chord injury) - we are lucky he was not hurt. Of course we needed a replacement and I found this chair - arrived yesterday - INGENIOUS. WELL MADE, NO METAL PARTS TO RUST, EASY TO CLEAN AND SITS SOLID IN THE SHOWER. This company should use the aluminum rust angle to sell this item. I would have sent a picture of the broken chair (I do have it), but I didn't think they would allow it as its a brand that looks similar to other chairs on the Amazon site.

Honest & Informative Review
This is NOT a paid review.I LOVE this chair, and it's one of THE best products I've EVER purchased through Amazon!!!First off, let me say, if you are over 300 pounds, a METAL chair is NOT for you, the metal legs on OTHER chairs WILL bend & break!!!So with that being said...I bought this chair because I have gained weight and I just got tired of always standing up while showering for 30 - 40 minutes!!!My feet would start to hurt and my back would kill me, so that just was NOT it!!!I bought a metal legged chair from Goodwill and it broke on 1st use!!!Listen to me... If you feel that you are overweight, or whatever, you NEED to buy this chair!!!Whether you're overweight, have a medical injury, or have a handicap you were born with, or if you have foot pain or back pain, or knee pain, or any pain while standing in the shower, this chair IS for you!!!But again... LISTEN TO ME!!!!If you are 5'7" in height, DO NOT ADJUST THE LEGS TOO MUCH ON THIS CHAIR!!!!!!If I remember correctly, I believe I did FOUR clicks!!!!So... If you have arthritis, or if you have injuries in your hands, wrists, of elbows, and you have UNSCREWED the feet on this chair, you ARE going to have a PROBLEM getting the legs to screw back in to go LOWER!!!My problem, was on my dumb mind, I was thinking to myself.... I'd love to sit up high!!.........NOT realizing, that if you unscrew the legs to RAISE the feet on it to sit up higher, that if you're short like me..... Your legs will NOT be able to touch the floor, which we all know will cause numbness in the legs!!!So again, if you are shorter in stature, shorter in height, PLEASE do yourself a favor and DO NOT unscrew the feet on this chair past 4 clicks!!!!That's my recommendation! But please do play with it to make it comfortable for you, of course!!This chair stays in place, it does not slip and slide, which is great! My other recommendation, is to make sure to warm up the chair before sitting on it. Like I have a shower head that has a cable on it so I can extend it, so I'll spray my chair down with hot water before I sit on it, because if you don't, I feel that if you sit on it first, it's harder and takes longer to warm the chair up. Again.... JUST a recommendation.I love that I can sit back on this chair and just relax. It's also cool that it has little notches on both sides of the chair, to set a shower head with a cable attachment cord to hold the shower head in place.I am telling you guys, this is THE BEST purchase I've ever made on Amazon, and I honestly don't know how I ever showered standing up, because showering sitting down is the ONLY way to shower! 🤣 😂 🤣 LoL!!!Trust me, buy this chair, the legs don't bend, they don't budge, they are 100% supportive, and stay away from the chairs with the metal legs, trust me!!!I was a little worried when this chair said PLASTIC legs... But my worries were all for nothing, because this chair is awesome!!!

Very safe chair.
This seat is solid and I feel safe using it. The only problem is the bottom of the legs are rounded and ruin bathtub mats. I wish I could buy just the leg bottoms that are flat.

Easy-to-Assemble, Sturdy All-Plastic Bath Chair
Based on the numerous 5-star reviews of this Carex bath & shower chair plus my own internet and in-store research, I decided to purchase this product, which arrived today. Now I can return to my nice neighbor the shower chair she has let me borrow after I came home from the hospital after major surgery.I am very pleased with this shower chair for the following reasons:1. Stability & Comfort: This chair is stable and secure and has a textured surface, secure legs and no-slip rubber feet. The side-handle cut-outs are of a generous size, and the grooved construction provides additional safety and reassurance. The handles have a smooth, rounded finish that is comfortable to grip. The optional chair back does not have a smooth, rounded finish and instead has an unfinished, rough plastic edge that is not comfortable to the touch. Very minor, but mentionable in case someone plans to carry the fully-assembled chair from one bathroom to another.2. Ease of Assembly: My chair arrived knocked down, and I put it together very quickly. The one-sheet instructional assembly diagram is self-explanatory and requires no text – just large, clear and direct illustrations. It is simple, direct, and easy to follow.Out of curiosity, I set a timer to see how long assembly required, and it took me two and half minutes to connect all 4 legs and the chair back to the bench. Each leg has a small white, round nub near the top, and it snaps into a corresponding circular opening in the bench. The optional back clicks right into the cut-out at the back of the bench. The chair back has two grooved slots that fit over two corresponding plastic slats at the back of the bench. Align the grooves and slats, and press gently to securely attach the back. The very end of the chair back has two sturdy, rectangular plastic tabs that fit into the central opening at the back of the bench. The tabs have built-in, horizontal 2-inch plastic lips that lock the chair back into place. If you attach the back, and then change your mind, you can easily remove it. Turn the chair over. To release the horizontal plastic lips that secure the back, press the ends of both plastic, rectangular tabs toward each other until they touch. I used both hands to do this, but someone with larger hands may be able to use only one. Simply pull the chair back away from the bench. Reattach if you wish.3. Appearance and Maintenance: I like the crisp, white look and the fact that the chair includes all-plastic materials and no metal parts to rust.Notes:1. The blue retail box featured on the site was not included, in case someone was expecting this box or depending on any of the information printed on it. I didn’t need the box but am mentioning it since Amazon includes it as one of the images representing this product.2. The internal width of my bath tub is 24 inches, and the fully-assembled chair fits comfortably in that space with about one inch of wiggle room left on either side of the chair.3. The packaging was sturdy and well-presented, with no signs of damage or package mishandling. They shipped it in a double carton, which I initially thought was for extra protection, and then I realized that the outer carton was used for shipment because I had ordered two CDs in addition to the shower chair. The inner carton measures approx. 18.5 x 21 x 7 inches and included ample packing materials to cushion the product. This carton was placed into a slightly larger carton, along with the CDs. The double carton was an unplanned benefit, and I was pleased.4. The bench has 16 die-cut S-shaped perforations to allow water to drain away from the seat.5. Even without the chair back installed, the shower chair just feels more like a chair than a bench. This is due to the ample front-to-back surface area in addition to the ample side-to-side width typical of a bench. Even though I am of an average female height and build, measuring 5’5” and weighing 130 lbs, I feel more secure having the extra room this seat provides. I believe that a person requiring more space would feel well-accommodated and comforted by the ample seating area.6. I used the openings intended for a shower spray hose to hold a razor and a plastic shampoo comb that has a built-in hook. When the chair back is not installed, the openings at the back of the bench can be used for holding other shower supplies.7. The price was $29.88, and shipping was free. I saw a shower chair at CVS for $59.99 + tax, and it includes metal parts, which will not wear well. It was an ordinary-looking typical shower chair and did not appear to warrant such a price. I knew that Amazon could do better. Amazon’s delivery was fast and efficient, and the price of the all-plastic chair was great.

Only use in an inclosed Shower
There was nothing wrong with the seat itself…it’s easy to put together but you can’t remove the back once it’s in place. It’s rather large & definitely made for Showers with Doors! I have a walk in with shower curtain so it was too big & would splash water everywhere if I had used it…my advice only use this one with an enclosed Shower.
