Read this before you start building the gazebo if doing solo!
Read this before you start building the gazebo! First thing you need to know about this post is that I’m writing it from the perspective of someone who made 95% of this gazebo solo. I’m 5’2” and was able to do just about the entire thing by myself in 4 days with 3 kids home for the summer and a full time business to run. THE INSTRUCTIONS - well written step by step instructions that provided clear pictures and diagrams with written directions for each step THE PROCESS If I was doing this with 1-2 other people we could have knocked it out in 2 days. Since it was just me, I started by fully assembling each side and roof panel. I made sure to bookmark each page that explained how to assemble the pieces together. Then we called a friend over to help us put the roof panels on. Hindsight’s5050!!!! If I were to go back I would have assembled the leg posts one at a time so that I could leverage them against the fence and then attach the crossbars. We attached the roof by pushing it up onto the crossbars beams and then one person got on a ladder under the center and we push/pulled it up the rest of the wasecuring it with bolts. The alignment of the holes and bolts were PERFECT. You MUST square and measure when they tell you to. Don’t worry, this only happens 5 times in the instructions and squaring the 4 posts can take some time but it’s critical. It rained most of the days I worked on this project and none of the wool became bloated or bowed. The structure is super sturdy once completed and looks like an expensive fancy gazebo. We’ve noticed zero leaks thanks to the attention to detail in the roofing sheet metal. The size 12x10 was perfect for our 12x14 space. You don’t want to crowd your space. Tips: - Make sure to get some canvas or leather gloves bc the metal can be sharp. - have extra charged batteries for your drill - Always pre drill for spots that need it. -pre drilling for the self tapping screws was helpful and I’d almost say required. - pre measure the ground and mark the exact square you want it to sit in.

Great product!
I can’t comment on longevity as I just assembled it. This gazeboo is not joke. It Assembly took me 4 days and 36+ beers. Every pilot hole was accurate. All hardware parts are labeled clearly. You have to remain organized and stack all pieces to remain successful I was able to assemble myself but lifting the roof panels requires 3 people.i didn’t not need to use the app as instructions were easy to follow. Great product and built better than the Costco one. Delivery was great and product was packaged well.

Well Built Ramada
I am impressed by the quality and look of this Ramada. It has exceeded my expectations. I must make you aware that the build project took 3 of us about 22hrs. You definitely need 3 people to install the roof panels. I would suggest like others to take the time to organize the lumber and hardware properly before you start, and having a solid concrete foundation for each post, is essential. The product was excellent, but I can’t say much for Amazon with the orchestration of the delivery. I hand picked the date of delivery as I had 2 workers lined up the next day for helping me with the install. The delivery finally occurred 2 days later, which was a problem as my workers were at a loss of work waiting for the delivery. Amazon switched me to 9 different representatives during the chat communication and then I contacted them by telephone and was switched out to 2 other representatives. I was promised an earlier delivery date which did not occur. I took 2 days 1655 Palm Beach Lakes Blvd., Ste. 900 West Palm Beach Florida 33491 from work, waiting for this delivery, as someone must be present for the delivery. I ultimately had to call the carrier to explain my frustration. The carrier had absolutely no notes from Amazon on my delivery issue. Very POOR CUSTOMER service on the part of Amazon. Don’t count on the delivery date. Also the time window for delivery was from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. Amazon should get their business in order and develop a shorter time window on large deliveries, as they obviously have the logistics to do so given the size of this operation

Quality product, read the tips in the instructions!
The included instructions were clear and easy to follow, and I found the 3D instructions on the BILT app to be particularly helpful for visualizing close up views of certain component alignments. There are a couple of extra fasteners of each type just in case you lose one or two, or in my case a manufacturing defect, a bolt without any threads. The only significant challenge I encountered was aligning the roofing panels. While the instructions do mention the importance of aligning the screws with the piloted holes, I unfortunately didn't realize this until after assembling the first panel, I wasn't too concerned if a rafter had a slight bend, but this resulted in some difficulty aligning the bolting holes later on for this one panel. I recommend using clamps or other tools to ensure proper alignment of the rafters and purlins. The assembly process took me approximately 11 days, working a few hours per day. I was able to complete the project on my own, with occasional assistance from my wife and neighbors for tasks like standing up the posts and lifting the roof panels. Overall, I'm pleased with the product's quality and durability. It's well-constructed and sturdy, with a solid build. While I haven't tested it in heavy rain yet, I'll likely add gutters as the rain will run right off the edge of the roof panels and down the facia wood probably resulting in stains. Some reviewers have expressed concerns about the hollow posts, I actually find this to be a benefit. The posts are still heavy and extremely sturdy, and their hollow design allows for future hidden electrical wiring to power lights or a ceiling fan. I didn't use the included power module, I found it a bit unsightly, I prefer a more permanent wiring solution that blends seamlessly with the overall aesthetic.

Looks Great! not for armatures
The Backyard Discovery 16-ft x 12-ft Barrington Brown Wood Rectangle Semi-permanent Gazebo with Steel Roof offers a solid option for those seeking to enhance their outdoor space. Delivered on time and well-packaged, the product showed no signs of damage, indicating careful handling during transit. In terms of quality, the gazebo impresses with its sturdy construction and attractive design. However, there were a few minor issues encountered during assembly. Some of the longer boards had noticeable bows, and the instructions could have been clearer, particularly regarding measurements for the roof panels. Additionally, several pre-drilled holes didn't line up correctly, necessitating extra drilling and adjustments. The assembly process proved time-consuming, taking around 16 hours with four individuals, including two experienced in construction and one teenager. Notably, the task of placing the long roof section required four people, which may catch some users off guard. Removing the blue protection film from the edge trim pieces proved to be a tedious task. However, despite these challenges, the end result is satisfying. The gazebo exudes a sense of quality and adds charm to any backyard space. While frustrations may arise, especially for those without prior construction experience, the overall look and durability of the gazebo make it a worthwhile investment. One piece of advice: having someone with a keen eye for instructions, perhaps a woman, can help navigate through the assembly process more smoothly. In conclusion, the Backyard Discovery Barrington Brown Wood Rectangle Semi-permanent Gazebo offers a good balance of quality and aesthetics, making it a solid choice for outdoor enthusiasts looking to elevate their backyard experience. Now I bummed the Gazebo in now $179 dollar less than what I paid just a few weeks ago. :(

Awesome
I don't write reviews, but this product earned one. The product was delivered early, only 2 boards were damaged and replaced with no questioned asked (2- half lap joints were broken) and every package of screws, nuts, bolts, washers and nuts included ample extras. But what really had me floored was the directions and prefab locations of mounting locations. Both were spot on accurate. No cursing or redrilling required. When the directions called for squaring before tightening, all I needed to do was tighten. I never expected a "kit" to be so well done. It was a time consuming build and lifting the roof sections required 3-4 people, but the rest was a one man job. If I needed another I would buy again in a snap. Well done Barrington, thanks!

Great quality gazebo!
This is an amazing gazebo. Assembly is easy for someone with a modicum of construction experience, but could be challenging otherwise. But parts were all marked correctly, holes lined up and there was plenty of extra hardware. Mine arrived with shipping damage (not the manufacturer's fault). Customer service was amazing and the right parts arrived quickly. They were very cheerful and helpful! Suggestions: 1.) Use power tools. 2.) When putting roof panels up, use a hinge to attach a couple 10' 2x4s to the long edge of the panel. The two ground helper can use them to ease the panels into place. Remove once stabilized. 3.) Instructions say to screw the trim fascia on top of the steel roof. That would direct rainwater to the wood! I put it under the roof panels. 4.) The cement screws are inadequate to bolt the unit to a slab. Get lead anchors and lag screws, drill holes in the concrete and securely bolt it down. But all in all no regrets! I would definitely recommend it!

We love it.
It is attractive, it is roomy (16x12 version) and the kit was well organized. The instructions were thorough and crystal clear. There are a lot of instructions. Please do not skip any instructions. There is red print in there for a reason. Those bits are extra important. 😊 It took us a LONG time to assemble. I’m meticulous, like measure-four-times-then-cut level of meticulous , but it still was probably 25 hours in total. And when it was time to put the roof sections (built on the ground first) on the frame, it was impossible for just me and my husband to do. We had to have our three sons come visit to help my husband get them up and installed. Four men, two ladders and rented scaffolding. Yes, we bought a big one, but the expectation that two people could completely build this 16x12 is unrealistic. So, if you are prepared for a project that takes a while and you have the muscle power to bring in for the lift, this is a GREAT gazebo. We LOVE it. We would buy it again, BUT we’d patiently wait for the company that assembles. It would have been about $800 for the build and they were booked 6 weeks out. However, that’s still preferable to the time it took, the scaffolding rental expense, and the truck rental expense to pick up and deliver the scaffolding, and the time and labor of my boys, one of whom drove over five hours one way to come help. ❤️ Love the gazebo. If you get the big one, and you are 50plus, it is probably better pay for the assembly company. UPDATE June 2025: It has been more than 2 years since purchased and erected. It hasn’t aged a bit. We still love it. It is probably my favorite thing I have ever bought. Would buy again and again. Zero regrets.

When purchasing this item I was very nervous as it's very expensive but amazon shipped it to my cottage and it does take a couple of people to put up the roof panels..you just need to be patient and get help to put it together but at the end it was all worth it
