Much nicer than USB extension strips
Got it for my wife's PC. It never ceases to amaze me how we run out of enough USB ports. Anyway, we got tired of fiddling with USB strips which were unsightly and got tangled often. I has a similar adapter for my old PC, but this one looked much nicer with the black plating and vertical ports. Overall it's a much nicer value than the strips, and you don't have to worry about the strip eating up one of your ports since you're adding all new ones. It was plug and play, as painless as can be. As long as you're technical enough to work inside a PC, this is definitely the way to go, didn't need to download drivers or anything, the card was recognized by Windows automatically. Transfer speeds are high, and build quality was top notch.

UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol) technology and 4 dedicated channels
I bought this card for its UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol) technology and 4 dedicated channels. As background, I am trying to get into podcasting and exploring creating AI generations locally, but I am having a lot of issues with instabilities and there are a lot more devices attached to my computer now. At this point, I'm frustrated and ready to stop wasting time and start getting to work. So, I purchased an expensive USB Controller card with 4X external USB-A external ports and 4X independent USB 3.0 5Gbps channels - before I spotted this one which is way less expensive USB expansion card that says it has 4 dedicated USB 3.0 5Gbps channels plus 7 external USB-A ports. My mainboard has the slots so I bought both. This card came with no documentation or labeling and I don't 'read' circuits, so I have no way of knowing whether this "UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol) technology and 4 dedicated channels" specification in the listing is accurate. But the price was right so I figure best case is that I can distribute the load so that I can record and edit without overheating and worse case I can repurpose my external hub by using the controller card for the heavy lifting and this one for light duty and intermittent use. Either way, this seems to be a good value and perhaps a better value than a run of the mill expansion cord. I found this card to be very, very easy to install. I plugged in a USB dongle and cord for a few devices, plugged in the card, and refreshed the device manager. And no complaints. I'm glad that I finally made the change and hope that my computer will now be better equipped to handle heavy multitasking.

may need to go the website to get a working driver
works great, Windows 7 would not plug and play though. Windows update found no drivers.I started a return and then just for the hell of it I went to their website and was able to download drivers that got it working.

Works as advertised.
I plugged it in, and it worked right away, with no problems.

Poor Quality
I knew I was taking a chance on this cheap USB PCIe card. The quality is very poor... the fit in each of the 7 slots varies greatly; some are almost too tight to fit the flash drive, and some are loose. If that's not bad enough, a couple of the slots do not even function. Zero stars.

Initial Impressions...exactly what I was looking for!
Only had it for a day, so I can't speak to long term use. However, this was exactly what I was looking for. Plug n play. No drivers, no additional power via Sata. I can't speak for data transfer speeds. I bought it primarily for other external devices (dongles, usb c cable to charge mouse, stream deck, extra mouse, etc) Recognized and powered each device I plugged into it. Great option for anyone needing additional USB ports. Common sense installation tip...before securing it with a screw in your expansion slot, plug in a usb dongle. Some cases don't have much of a tolerance for vertical usb ports in the back, so plugging in a usb dongle ensures you get it perfectly aligned before tightening the screw down. UPDATE. Know your motherboard. On mine, when installed in the pcie_2 or pcie_4 slot the m.2_2 slot is unavailable. This is a deal breaker for me unfortunately so I returned it, but not a fault of the product itself, just a limitation of my MB.

Linux support, good speeds, hardware fragile.
Okay, the good. Easy install in old hp slimline. Hooked up sata but not sata power (no ssd use). Plugged into ide bus and closed the case. Booted up in lubuntu 18 LTS and devices showed up with no drivers on disc needed. Yay! Getting speeds from spinning disk external to main HDD at 60 to 70 MB/s. The bad: it's a chip board, you get what you pay for and that means you get the cheapest components. On first plug in I had the USB port upside down and not only did it very easily let me plug in, but also broke the plastic connector inside. The port still works but will forever be fragile and could compromise data transfers. I can hear you saying, "we'll I'd never do that". Okay! Then this is a board for you who never make mistakes. For myself and every one else, just be careful.

You might write that a DRIVER is a must for such komponent to work properly. Attaching a link to download the driver is a plus so everyone can be happy 👍. Otherwise everything went perfect 🌹.

I received a card that unfortunately arrived dead on arrival (DOA). I contacted the seller, and without any hassle or questioning, they immediately sent me a replacement. The new card works perfectly — true plug-and-play. Great experience, fast communication, and top-notch support. Highly recommend this seller!
