OXO Good Grips 14-Inch Silicone Flexible Tongs

Love this it works really really great when I'm flipping my fish over and the frying pan I've had no melting issues with the silicone. It cleans up easily. Oxo for the win again!

This is exactly what I wanted for turning fish in a skillet. The slotted side is flexible enough to grip fish without damaging it. The other side is very stiff and works great for nudging the fish and picking it up. Great tongs.

Works well. Silicone is good and Sturdy. Would recommend.

First off, I love OXO products. Whenever we need to replace something, we check to see if OXO has it before looking at other products. We probably have a couple dozen OXO products from food containers to towel dispensers to kitchen utensils, and we love them all... except these tongs. The problem is that the locking mechanism doesn't work very well. It's a pretty minor issue, but it's significant compared to the rest of their line - when you open and close the tongs, sometimes the lock mechanism will slide into place and they will lock unexpectedly. It's easy to reproduce by holding the tongs vertical with the flippers pointing up and then opening and closing them - after one or two clicks, the lock slides down. Now, you won't typically be holding the tongs vertically, but it happens under normal use as well. It does not seem to be a faulty item either. I was able to bend the lock so it stays in place for the most part, but because of the quality of every other OXO products we've purchased, I bought a second set assuming that the first was faulty, but the second set had the same issue. We have other products like the silicon salad tongs that have the same locking mechanism but do not exhibit this issue, so it seems to be a problem with just this item. I still gave this 4 stars because it's better than other products out there, even with the defect. But if I was rating it against other OXO products, it's certainly the most disappointing.

Great utensil for cooking and salads!!! Good grip. Like how you have more control when using it. Picks up more food because of the flat head and food doesn’t fall off of it. The lock feature keeps it locked so it doesn’t take up much room in the drawer. I’ll be buying more .

OXO makes pretty good kitchen gear, not glamorous, just nice looking, well built, and functional. But these tongs miss the beat a bit. The perforated side has no internal support, just the silicone material. It is difficult to reach into a pot or pan and actually grab anything. You have to get the solid side under the item you are getting or you risk it overweighting the perforated side and losing it. Kind of defeats the purpose of having a perforated side when you have to pick it with the closed side which has the strength to lift the object. You can make it work, just not a convenient kitchen tool. The silicon on the ends is thick, not easily worn. They are well built, just not well designed.

Great quality tongs and easy to use.

A kitchen tool you didn’t know you needed until you use it. I bought it as a Christmas game gift and am so glad I did. It works really well. My husband was like- isnt it just tongs, but nope! It’s so much better. No more splattering while trying to turn food over.

I bought these for making potato pancakes and they did not disappoint. I thought they’d be too narrow but they worked really well. So much easier than using a fish spatula or anything else I’ve done in the past!

One side of the tongs is flexible, so you need to get used to which way up you hold the tongues otherwise you will drop what you have picked up. now i have got used to them, i am very pleased with my purchase.
