Expensive but work well

I felt unstoppable after I brought these air fresheners. Who knew that the difference between being stoppable and stoppable was a clean smelling car.

When these little vent clips actually decide to function, they are genuinely magnificent. They pump out a scent so aggressively fresh it feels like you have just been violently slapped in the face by a glacial mountain breeze. But that is a colossal, monumentally sized "when." The consistency of these air fresheners is simply staggering. Predicting how long one will last is about as reliable as throwing a dart at a spinning globe while completely blindfolded and confidently expecting to hit a specific pub in rural Wales. Sometimes you get three glorious weeks of fragrance; sometimes it expires before you’ve even managed to leave your own postcode. ​Then we arrive at the activation mechanism. You are supposed to simply push the plastic clip up until it clicks, gently piercing the inner membrane and release the liquid. However, roughly half the time, this mechanism flat-out refuses to yield. The plastic suddenly takes on the structural integrity of a deep-underground nuclear bunker. When you encounter one of these duds, you can push, squeeze, and wrestle with it until your thumbs literally bleed. You could attack it with an industrial hydraulic press, call in a localized military airstrike, or hand it to a violently angry silverback gorilla, and that tiny foil seal would remain completely and utterly unbreached. ​This brings us to the rather painful subject of value for money. You are handing over £14.75 for a three-pack of these things, which is a brutally steep price of admission when you factor in the 50/50 success rate. Every time you rip open the cardboard packaging, you are essentially tossing a coin. You might get a beautifully fresh-smelling environment, or you might end up with a defective, un-pierceable lump of plastic that sits on your air vent silently mocking your financial decisions. ​Yet, despite all of this infuriating inconsistency, I will keep buying them. Because when you compare them to the other completely useless alternatives on the market—those giant, cup-holder-stealing plastic tubs that pump out an aroma about as potent as a blank sheet of A4 paper - this gamble is entirely justified. The odds of winning might be desperately low, but at least there is a microscopic sliver of hope. ​In a truly just universe, I would award this product precisely 2.5 stars to perfectly mirror the brutal 50/50 statistical probability of them actually working. But since the review system refuses to deal in fractions, I am arbitrarily and entirely unpredictably rounding up to a 3. I, too, can play this chaotic game of unpredictable outcomes, Febreze. Your move.

Everyone who enters my car thinks it smells amazing because of these beautys! They hold up well and the scent is so strong. Will absolutely buy again
