It kept me from getting sunburned, but was never hot due to the mesh. I loved the snaps - in the picture you could see the left side up. Depending on the time of day, I could put both sides down or up - it looked great with whatever I was wearing. And it is CRUSHABLE. Didn't matter how I packed it or how i put it on - it always looked great FOR WHAT IT IS. It's not a fashion hat, and a few wrinkles add to the character of it. Love this hat. I HIGHLY recommend it.
