Aquarium Filter Media Pad Cut to Fit Roll, 12" x 72" (6 ft)

I've been using this product for about a year now after starting my own outdoor goldfish pond. This is the best deal around for the amount you get, and works great in my DIY filter that I made using a standard size bucket. Comes well packaged, and can be easily cut into 12, 1' diameter circles to fit in my makeshift filter. Several reviews I read said they received the wrong size, but mine was exactly at .75", if not closer to .8". I place this on the top of my filter (white side up), followed by a much finer filter, and then followed by filter balls and lava rocks. Can be easily cleaned and re-used several times before replacing (make sure you use clean pond water, NOT hose water as this will kill the good bacteria in the filter). You can see in the last pic how much gunk it collects in just 2 weeks from 27, 1 yr-old goldfish.

This is really effective for my aquarium filters; it does exactly what it's supposed to do—great!

Ok, just to clarify we don't use these filters for an aquarium. We cut it to fit as AC filters, and it works just as well as the ones costing much more.

I have a Savio filter for my 750 gallon pond. I used this media in conjunction with 12"x 60"x 1.25" Aqua-Flo Coarse Black Universal Pond Filter Mat to filter out large and small particles from the water. I simply cut the filter media to size and replaced the Savio media with these. Both just fit in the holder and work great, although I have to clean them every 2-3 days because they collect so much floating algae and other debris. I have also used this kind of filter media in other ways, like to filter liquids for my pump-up sprayer while pouring into the spray container. You can also cut and use this media as an air filter for lawnmowers, snowblowers, etc. and of course you can cut it to size for your aquarium filters as well.

I have been using an Aquaclear 50 on a 20g long planted tank. Being old school, carbon has been a staple in my fishkeeping world though I have come around to a carbon-less setup. I was battling some floating material in my tank and decided to buy some old school blue/white floss for my tank. In the filler I have an intake sponge, the foam block, two pieces of cut floss, and the bio media. Within a matter of hours I now have a crystal clear tank with pristine water. The first piece does get a bit dirty and usually only lasts a week. Though I am sure you can rinse these and reuse, they do tend to fall apart when rinsing so I just gave up. The mat for sale here should last a more than reasonable amount of time that cutting a new piece will work fine(losing some beneficial bacteria in the change out.) If you want clear water or have a planted tank and want polishing without carbon this is highly recommended.

This filter Padding is ok, itll do the job but it degrades a little sooner than I'd like. There's another one I usually use that I like cause its strong enough to rinse out and use multiple times but I wanted to try this one. Unfortunately, it didnt live up to my expectations. It's good for one or two uses but then itll need replacing depending how dirty the pad gets. It's ok for the price.
