The track selection is great to me. However this is because I already know the songs well and have a connection to most of them. It is indeed ACOUSTIC as the name implies. It is very intimate and every nuance is quite audible as the vinyl was cut from DSD master. I will invest time in this album over and over again. If you are a newcomer to Band of Horses, I invite you to follow their progression chronologically (Everything All the Time; Cease to Begin; Infinite Arms; Mirage Rock; and THEN Acoustic at the Ryman). Having said that, do it all RIGHT NOW! You are missing out a lot! Step 1: Quit your job or school. Step 2:Gather currency Step 3: Buy or download all of it, then play it all. Right now. Not so here. Lots of nice harmonies and understated instrumentation. Excellent vocals as well. It's a real test of a band if they can pull off the acoustic thing and these guys do that. One of the best acoustic live albums I've heard in a while. Recommended! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Don't read the Pitchfork review *by K***R on Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2014* They paint such a negative view of this album with no helpful information. Best review was Paste. Here's what I think: Made me give their 2012 cd "Mirage Rock" another chance because I like the live version of "Slow Cruel Hands of Time". Another reviewer stated that you may not like it as much if you didn't know the songs. I think it's ok to not know everything, these versions are so different, you may not immediately recognize them anyway. I would advise that you buy the first album, "Everything All the Time" BEFORE getting any of the other Band of Horses. It very interesting to play this live album on "random" mixed in with the studio releases. It is a good contrast, and a good way to really see how the songs were reworked.
