I remembered how I learned from my dad to separate 2 hard walled buckets in my youth, and applied the same theory to getting the caps off of these bottles. Make sure the bottle is at room temperature, put on dishwashing gloves, hold the lid area under a faucet and turn on the hot water. As the water gradually warms to being hot, leave it under the hot water until the plastic becomes soft and pliable. Voila, it will pull off with minimal effort at that point!! I hope you will like these bottles as much as I do and that my tip for removing the lids helps you as well. Not sure why there were reviews complaining about the cap. I haven't found the lid with pourer cap flimsy in the least. I am very pleased with the purchase and highly recommend this product.
