A Backpacker's Friend for Coffee on the Trail
Via is a Go-To for coffee on the trail. No muss, no fuss, easy as boiling water, suitable for any vessel you prefer to carry along to drink from. Yes, there is great pour-over for the trail, there are "fresher and better" ways to make coffee, and there are emerging competitors for "instant coffee on the trail", but Starbuck's has led the way for simplicity and ultra light weight, ultra compact in the pack, and yet ultra flavorful coffee with its Via Instants. For a robust flavor, both the Italian and French Dark roast offer that smoky, toasty flavor at less caffeine , typical of dark roast. If you enjoy donut coffee, or need the caffeine in your morning cup, stick to the Via medium, which is very flavorful and balanced. Which Via to choose? Personal preference... give each a try... maybe then carry some of each and tailor your coffee by time of day or how you feel. After all, a packet weighs nothing and takes no space... until its 3 times a day for a week or two, but even then some find space for this comfort.

Package color has changed dramatically.
In the future when ordering French Roast coffee, be advised the color and labeling on each packet of 8 has changed from the white color with a large cup of coffee with pink background to a dark green and dark purple color with a building in corner of packaging. FRENCH ROAST is on green background and DARK ROAST is shown on purple background. THE AWESOME FLAVOR IS THE SAME !!!!!

I LOVE Starbucks Via coffee - but not the way it is now sent loose in old cardboard boxes
I LOVE this coffee but I, too, do not appreciated the coffee being sent in a cardboard box that, in fact, looks reused and could have contain any kind of other material before. Coffee is a product for consumption so that bothers me. If you check the date on the individual packets, they are still "good" but they don't have a very long shelf life according to the expiration date when compared to the Starbucks VIA in original packaging i bought FOR YEARS via Amazon.
