Review: Worth the money - These silent switches are awesome. I switched to these after using Outemu Silent Peach V3 switches and the difference is night and day. The tactile bump is crisp and my set does not appear to have any issues with scratchiness or stem wobble like some other reviews have noted. Not a single switch came with any bent pins and the install was as straightforward as it could be. They are quiet enough to not disturb anyone in my office while still being satisfying to type with, darn good switches for the price.
Review: Party bus vs. luxury RV. - I brought these switches for one purpose and one purpose only... To write an honest review proving they were overhyped. So, how did that go? === === === === === === === === === === [Feel] When it comes to tactility, these pass the test. The bump isn't the crispiest, but it is noticeable and satisfying. The travel is average, and the resistance is about average. The lubing is adequate and consistent. [Sound] But you want to know if these are silent. And I hate to admit it, against my own biases; but they sure are. No, it's not hype, these switches are VERY quiet (I mean, nothing is truly 'silent,' but they meet the intent in stunning fashion). === === === === === === === === === === [Bottom Line] I can't hate on these switches. They deliver solid quality and construction and great tactility. Are they budget? NOOOO! Not at all. However, it feels like this is very much like comparing the difference between a party bus, and a luxury RV. Both can certainly get you to your destination and you may even have a good time in both. But it is only after you experience the true luxury option that you will truly understand the difference. These switches ARE the luxury option. This is an easy recommendation if you have the munyuns! Hope that helps; happy typing!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Like Schlotzky's: Silly Name, Serious Silence - worth the money!
*by G***9 on July 11, 2025*

Sounds corny but these are life changing because they really are SO quiet. First of all - I am NOT a mechanical keyboard snob. Up till a few years ago, if I needed a new keyboard, I would just buy whatever cheapo $5-10 keyboard was available, or just use what came w/ the computer. But then a friend showed me his mechanical kb and I liked how smooth it felt yet still had that positive bump instead of the mush that most cheap keyboards are. So I "splurged" on a $30 kb with brown "quiet" tactile switches, and used it up till a couple weeks ago. As for my knowledge about mechanical kbs: I only spent a few minutes searching online about slient keyboards. From that I watched 2-3 youtube videos to learn how to make keyboards quiet (gaskets, foam, etc). I also found a reddit thread comparing about 20 different so-called silent switches, and this Silent Shrimp was highly praised there. And now that I have a set, I can see why! I work at home full time but so does my wife, and we share an office. My previous $30 mechanical kb with generic brown switches was still pretty clicky. Not as loud as ones with blue switches - I've heard those and that's just too loud even for me. I guess I hit keys hard because they were bottoming out and making the click sounds. I tried adding o-rings but it didn't help since the switches on that old kb had a sort of box around the + stem. You could actually hear me typing from several rooms away. I'm really new to custom mechanical keyboards. If I had done a little research beforehand, I wouldn't have bought that other kb since it didn't have hotswap sockets or any kind of noise damping. Lately for some reason it seemed to have gotten louder - it was annoying both of us. So I bought a different kb with hotswap sockets along with gasket mount and layers of sound damping and supposedly quiet linear switches, thinking it'd be a lot quieter, but if it wasn't, at least it was upgradable. It was a TINY bit quieter than the other one but still not great - keys still had a sharp bottoming out sound. Plus I do prefer the tactile feel that brown switches have. Enter the Silent Shrimp. It's like the Schlotzky's slogan - "Silly Name, Serious Sandwich." Or Serious Silence in this case. Since the body of the switch is transparent, you can see the tiny black rubber bits inside to dampen the noise it will make at both the bottom and the top of the keystroke. You still get a very distinct bump about halfway through the keystroke, and the key doesn't actually activate till after that bump happens. So if you accidentally bump a key while moving your hand (ie to/from mouse), you're less likely to get an accidental input. If I had to pick something to complain about, it's that now that it's so quiet, actually pressing the keys sounds slightly scratchy, for lack of a better term. I bought a $5 tube of "Super Lube" as recommended in one of the youtube videos I watched earlier, but haven't had time to pop off all the key caps and apply it. But even if that makes no difference, these are a MASSIVE reduction in the noise level in my office. Yeah, I ended up spending almost $100 on my keyboard (honestly that still feels really expensive to me - see my previous comment about being OK using $5 keyboards) but in this case I think it's worth it. Sometimes, like with these switches, you really do get what you pay for. One other thing: if you use RGB/backlighting on your keyboard, be aware that the body of these switches is light green, and it will change the color of your backlighting. So if you had pure white light, it will become light green. Other colors besides green will change too. But If you're like me and you hate having a distracting light show going on at the bottom of your peripheral vision or just don't need/want backlighting (my keyboard has it, but it weas the first thing I turned off), then the color of the switches won't matter to you - only how quiet they are. And not to repeat myself, but wow, these are QUIET!
