Worth the money, good initial quality
Update as of July 2014: After about 6 months of using these filters, I am still very pleased. I have taken them out and cleaned them twice, and the filter material is holding up very well. Initially the fit was a bit snug where they mounted onto the housing, but that has loosened up a bit, but not too much. I am considering purchasing another set of filters so I can rotate them and take my time cleaning the filters. This way, I don't have to set aside an hour or so on a weekend to disassemble the filter, clean, and reassemble. Like other reviews have stated, the quality of these filters is very good, and the price is considerably lower then local pool supply stores. The fit was a bit tight, but I used some o-ring lubricant and it helped. The price was actually a bit cheaper to buy these one at a time, instead of the 4 pack, but the 4 pack was being shipped to me with Prime, so it was worth the extra $12 or $15. I get a lot of packages in 1 day with Prime! This was no different. I have been battling a bit of algae in my pool for the past few seasons, resulting in extra chlorine being used and a lot of brushing in the areas that do not get a lot of direct sun. It never occurred to me that just hosing off my old filters could be causing this.... duh. I put these 4 filters in, and within a couple days, I have no algae in the pool!! I wish I would have changed them sooner!! Lesson learned by me the hard way, but maybe it will help someone else out. Don't wait, hosing off the old filters is not enough after a few years. Unrelated to these filters, I stripped out the brass T nut that holds the band on my filter. After being quoted $40 from the local pool store for the nut, or $250 for the whole band, I decided to get creative. I went to the local home improvement store and bought a 4 pack of stainless 5/16 - 24 TPI nuts, and carefully tightened all 4 nuts at the same time with 2 wrenches. It snugged up without issues or leaks. I will replace the correct brass nut, but not for that price, Amazon to the rescue I'm sure....

A very high quality option for Pentair filters.
I have a clean and clear plus 320 with a 1.5HP motor running the filter system supplied by the builders. Turns out the motor is too powerful and it lead to cracks at the base which I replaced but was on the lookout for anyway to decrease pressure. As it happened I walked out to a dirty pool one morning and inquired with the pool guy if the previous owners every replaced or cleaned the filter, which was a negative from his perspective. Needing to reduce the pressure and get my pool clean I looked at original equipment which was way to pricey and found these fIilters on Amazon. They arrived a few days later and fit perfectly with a total install of about 15 minutes, most of which was not related to the filters and making sure the filter casing was sealed. The filters have been awesome. The pool went from a smokey blue to crystal clear within half a day and has been that way ever since. I recommend these highly as cost effective replacements that are high quality.

Great value!
These filters for my Pentair system were about a quarter the price being asked for by my local pool supply store so of course, this purchase was a no-brainer. They have been installed for 3 weeks now and have been great! Crystal clear water and pressures are low which means water is flowing through them freely while being filtered. Outstanding performance and priced right. I recommend these to anyone considering replacing their filters.

Should have bought these sooner
I should have bought these sooner. Fit perfectly right out of the box. I have to believe those reviewers who said they had some difficulty installing these cartridges must not have ordered the correct part. They fit very snuggly in the manifold, but, isn't that what you want? I was able to push them on with just a small amount of hand pressure in both the manifold on the bottom and the fitting on top. Changing the cartridges took less than 15 minutes. So, why did I replace my cartridges? My pool is only 3 years old, but, I was having a problem with getting my old cartridges completely clean. I would take them out and spend time with the hose on high pressure trying to get into every crevice, put them back in and still show pressure readings in the mid 20s. Within 10 days the pressure was back up to 30psi. I had to clean them monthly in order to keep the water clear (yes, I checked all of the chemical balances and my salt system was working properly with proper salt levels). I even tried some chemical cleaners when cleaning the cartridges thinking that the high pressure water was not enough to get them clean. I have a variable speed pump and when it went into low speed mode my salt system indicated low flow and I was unable to get the pool water really clear. When I put these cartridges in the pressure dropped to 15psi on high speed and I have better flow rate than I have ever had. I was able to cut the low speed on my variable speed pump in half and (at pressure readings of 12psi) I still have sufficient flow rate for the salt system and heater to operate. My pool sweep is running almost as fast on low pump speed as on the higher cleaning cycle speed. Within 4 hours I had sparkling clean water again. I should mention that this is not our first pool. At our previous house I had a Hayward paper cartridge filter in which I had to clean the cartridges once a year and never had the problems I have had with the Pentair filter. Given the choice I would avoid the Pentair filter. In my opinion the Pentair equipment (pumps, filters, salt system) are inferior to the Hayward equipment. Hayward equipment is more expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Great buy for pool filter cartridges
I was a little hesitant purchasing filter cartridges that were other than the name brand or actual OEM replacements for my new Pentair pool filter. But after an exhaustive search trying to find them I gave in and ordered the pleatco brand from Amazon. I have been SO happy with these as a replacement, they work awesome! The pool water has not been cloudy all season and they seem easier to clean than the originals. My next replacement will be a reorder of this product for sure. And as an added bonus, they shipped for free with super saver shipping and were delivered in two days. Can't beat that service!

A good value
I bought these in June 2016 and just got around to installing them (September 2016). They were not as tight a fit in the filter manifold as the originals, but they should work fine. I ran the pool pump for about an hour following installing these filters and everything worked fine.

Great value and quality pool filter replacements.
I was hesitant to replace my OEM cartridges with what I thought was an "off-brand" product but I am so glad that I did. The fins in these Pleatco cartridges are made of a fabric-based product that is much sturdier and so much easier to clean thoroughly than my Pentair cartridges were. My pool is sparkling clean, and the best part is that these cartridges we far less costly than the OEM brand. Because this is the first time I have purchased these cartridges I can't speak to their longevity but I will update my review if I find any problems with excessive wear and tear. After having cleaned them twice I can say they look like brand-new, and I am betting they will last longer than the paper-based product on the Clean and Clear OEM cartridges but I'll keep you posted.

Since replacing these filters my pressure went down from 35PSI to 5PSI.
Our onetime pool guy wanted to charge $350 to change this. Instead I bought it here and changed it myself in 20 minutes. So easy. Just make sure the pool is off then open the top gauge by depressing it and allowing the water and air to come out... much like a pressure cooker. Use (for mine, yours may be different) a 5/8" socket wrench to unscrew the large bolt and take off the assembly, noting how everything is placed. Note the placement of the filters. Really easy in my case, just a plastic clipon to hold the 4 together. Remove the filters and discard them. Clean the inside of the filthy filter with a hose and in my case I used a wet-dry vac. Mine was particularly filthy because I had been ill and unable to take care of the pool. Once clean put these 4 filters in, exactly the way they were taken out. Grease the rubber gasket ring with lube you can get at any pool store for $10 for the cheap stuff or get the good stuff here: http://www.amazon.com/Jacks-Formula-327-Lube-1oz/dp/B002WKO6H4/ref=sr_1_1?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1370734259&sr=1-1&keywords=pool+gasket+lube Replace the assembly and bolted it very tight -- to the point where the springs are all *just* touching each other. With the socket wrench that went very fast for me. Make sure the valve (on top of the gauge) is OPEN. Remember that... make sure it is OPEN. Then when everything is secure. Turn on the pump. Eventually air will start to hiss out of the gauge/valve on top then water. That's when you shut the gauge by slightly depressing it then turning it and your system will be up and running. If the filter doesn't "catch" go to the pump filter and prime it. That is, open it, put the hose in it and fill it with water while it's on. Do that for 30 seconds or so. Close that pump filter and start the pump again, making certain the top of the gauge on the 4-filter holder is open. I'm not an expert but with a few exceptions I've taken care of the pool the last 6 years. These filters are wonderful.
