Question 1

The description says this has no effects on humans or pets, but the bag has a warning: Hazard to humans and domestic animals. What is the truth?

it means don't breathe it in or consume the product. if you have animals make sure u wet it down well before u let animals near the spread. as 4 the 2 legged animal, watch out 4 children (who put everything in their mouths) adults should use common sense. IE: cheap paper mask/filter & protect eyes etc.. after it has been wetted down into the ground it is harmless. i have used 4 the last 8yrs. & as of  06/01/2016, my doctor says i'm in good health.

I'm trying to find the word "granular" on this picture.  Is it? 
Also, why would this take 3 years of applications, vs. the powder?

There are two forms this product Somers in: powder on can/boxes that you have to apply in a checkerboard pattern to the lawn using either a tube applicator or a homemade version (coffee can with nailholes affixed to a pole of some kind). And a bagged, granulated version for applying with a lawn spreader. The lawn spreader version must be less concentrated or something because of the process to make it in a spreadable form. The powder version is way too fine for applying with a spreader.

Is this really 20 pounds or 20 ounces?  What size area does it treat?

20 Pounds and it's great , the granulare is easy to apply. I use the power in the front yard I had to dress for safety and safety glasses and a special mask rated for the dust. This you do not have to just spread with hand held spreader or other spreader.The power is every 3 or 4 feet . This is a great.20 pounds Granular
