D'Addario Orchestral Violin Bow (9491)

This is a great mute to use for orchestra because it is so easy to move on and off the bridge. However, the way that this mute changes the sound of the violin is not as nice as more traditional circular mutes. It kind of just deadens the sound rather than the round mutes which make the violin sound a bit "sweeter". So for that reason I don't use it for solo playing where the quality of the sound is important.

I don't like this at all, because of rattles and buzzes. Is there something I can do to make it fit better in use? An I using it wrongly?

It doesn’t mute anything the muter only makes your instrument sound like it’s underwater. It is not easy to take off the strings. Product is too expensive and not worth your time nor money👎.

Got tired of the traditional tourte mute rattling and got this to replace it. It does the job, but is not as powerful as a traditional mute—maybe a 50-66% mute by comparison. It was easy to install and is even easier to use. To be clear, this is a performance mute for playing "con sordino" passages, not a practice mute.

使っていたミュートのつけ外し時の雑音が気になり、 市民オケの演奏会用に購入。 静かに簡単にスライド動作でつけはずしができ、気に入りました。 弦と弦がミュートのサイド部の溝に しっかりと はまっている構造で、 使用しない時も落ちず、安心です。 でも、何回も使用しているうちに、 だんだんサイド部のみぞ幅が広がってきたらアウトだと思われることと、 弱音器としての音量の減りが少ない（ゴム製と比較）ので ☆ー１です。
