Works a treat.
After reading other reviews I just quite jubious about this product. Im quite a heavy guy and thought that these would break in an instant, but bought them as the price was fair, they came with the screwdriver needed (so I didnt have to go and buy a seperate one) and as stated the reviews were mixed. So I gave them a shot... and im glad I did. They are brilliant! They hold my weight, and Ive had them for over a month and they're still holding strong. They are easy to install, took all of 5 mins. Dont get my wrong they are a bit ugly when they catch your eye from the next desk, so it would have been nice if the tightening strips were black or if they black shaft sleeves were chrome to match. But regardless they do they job intended, I would highly recommend.

Bunch of cheap overpriced fittings that get the job done remarkably well.
I'm not gonna lie, the fittings themselves are pretty cheap, the kind of fittings you get from hardware shops for pennies. What you're paying for here is the solution, a very simple but effective solution. I've been using them for around a week now and my chair is still in place even though I'm on the heavier side. The only downside so far is that one of the hose clips is faulty and doesn't tighten, which isn't a major problem considering I only needed about half the amount provided in the pack. All in all I definitely recommend this product.

Cheap and cheerful, gets rid of that sinking feeling.
Five minutes to fit, enough to do my job twice over and free screwdriver. Works ok, see how long it lasts.

Don't last long.
They work fine for about 5 months then the plastic starts to crumble under the pressure.

Simple & cost effective solution to a common problem.
Simple & cost effective solution to a common problem. High quality components that took no more than 5 minutes to fit to my office chair. You lose the ability to adjust seat height, but once you have set it at the comfortable height why would you need to keep adjusting?

Simple yet effective
From believing I'd have to change the gas piston, watching a couple of Youtube videos and not relishing either the price or the work involved, to this. Took about 5 minutes, most of which was actually finding my hacksaw and cutting one of the three plastic tube bits to fit. It's only been a half hour or so, but it seems strong enough to take my 215 pounds okay and stopped the annoying dropping of seat level. That's another of life's little irritations out of way.

Quick installation, simple solution
Having bought a used office chair from a local charity shop I quickly discovered that it gradually sank under my greater than average weight. As my desk is also higher than average, this was problem. For under six pounds, this kit seemed worth a try since failure would not hurt the budget. It consists of a set of split black plastic collars held in place by jubilee clips. The collars are split so they can be pushed onto the chair shaft without dismantling the chair. They are then tightened with the jubilee clips, two per collar. A cross-head screwdriver is included with the kit. I needed two collars and the installation took five minutes. My chair doesn't sink now. I have withheld one star. The collars do look flimsy, although they will be working under compression; we'll see if they last and I will update the review if they break. Another point; not sure how many collars should be in the box. There were three in mine and I only needed two but the illustration implies you get more than that. On the other hand there were 12 jubilee clips in two sizes, as illustrated. It does occur to me that this simple fix could be home made but, at the price, hardly worth the effort.
