Pick your poison is fun to play with a group, but I also had fun just playing with my teenager (not keeping score, but talking and laughing). The goal is to get the most points and there is a structure to it, but the fun is really in just discussing why you each pick the specific poison. Since my extended family is not the best at chatting it up, I sometimes rely on games to make our get togethers more lively. Thankfully, this game (played with 9 people) kept everyone engraved and entertained. I'll post some card examples, but you try to make the poisons equally dreadful so that all the votes don't go heavily to one poison. Overall, it's an enjoyable game and we have gotten a lot of laughs out of it. Though not a Halloween specific game, I'm having a Halloween get together and we are going to play it. So just an added bonus there.

good party game

We wanted a game that would be fun and just create conversation for us with our teen kids and tween kids. This game was perfect. It is fun to play, and generates great family time. My 15 year old also took it to play with some of her friends as well. It is well designed and the options are good. It is not "intense" really no one cared too much about the score, because it was fun to talk about the options and joke about them... just a nice fun casual game. We have also just pulled out a stack of cards and played an informal "Would you rather..." just for fun. We not only totally recommend the Family Safe Version of this game, already plan to order copies for a few of our friends.

Very fun to play

I bought this game to play with my family on Thanksgiving, and we were rolling laughing, so I purchased it again to bring to a friends as a gift and to play it with them for Christmas. I handed the cards out as I was explaining the game, and when I sat down and read mine, I was mortified, but hoped I just got some odd cards. Mind you I was the youngest at the party at 50 years old. When people started to read their cards, they were awful and just cringeworthy, not funny at all. I told my 21 year old daughter about them and even she cringed. Needless to say, I was horribly embarrassed, so be SURE you don't get the adult version, I'm open minded, but it's just gross, not funny.

Super fun game to play!

We usually have a game night with my parents, my husband's parents, my husband & I & our 7yr old. Nobody has a great attention span for learning new rules but everyone got this in less then 10 min...not kidding. So far I haven't found any cards that were inappropriate enough to pull from the deck for our boy/7yr old. Plenty of humor that makes you cringe but every is laughing hysterically. I will probably be gifting this game often, it fits any genre from my 21yr old brother in law to a housewarming gift. Buy it & enjoy making your family read funny & horrible things out loud haha

I find that getting a game out really brings the family closer together and its great having a laugh with family. This game really gets people talking when you hear some of the choices that your friends and family would rather go for!

Schönes Spiel, wie erwartet

We really enjoyed that this game started conversations with our kids about their likes and dislikes. It was interesting to see what people prioritise when it really comes to it. Instructions were easy to follow and we could get playing in no time. Great family game.
