Great night brace while healing from Jones break.
I broke my 5th metatarsal bone (Jone's break) and wore a cast for 8 weeks then moved into a air cast boot for a month. Told to wear 24/7. The boot is heavy and difficult to sleep with, but I don't want to take a chance of re-injuring my foot for comfort. I ordered this hoping it would provide me stability while also making it more comfortable sleeping at night. I know this splint was more so made for a different condition, however this is going to also be perfect for my situation. The wedge on the end is velcro'd in so I removed it and turned it around. I re-inserted it under the lining at my heel to put my foot in the exact angle it was in my cast for 8wks and strapped it on my foot. The top of my foot could use 1 more strap so I am taking another Velcro strap that I have on hand to wrap underneath the bottom of the splint and over my fore foot for more protection. In this position I have the perfect light weight boot for sleeping. I am so glad I purchased this. I searched for reviews of others using this for this purpose on this and several other night splints before buying this one and couldn't find them anywhere. I would not jeopardize the healing process of my foot for anything, so I was prepared to throw this away and say "nice try, but no thank you" in the event that it did not safely secure my foot for sleeping. But I am pleasantly surprised. The picture shows how the top of my foot is not strapped down to my satisfaction and where I will be placing the additional strap to secure my foot. I hope this review helps someone else with this type of fracture to purchase this with more confidence and peace than I did. I am so glad I bought it. Moving on to more restful nights.

proportions for large feet don't work well.
Problems with adjusting straps and foot going numb at night. After cutting and sewing new velcro straps, was able to adjust the splint and it does a good job at helping, in that I can actually walk when I wake up in the morning. The bulkiness is a given, which you will get over. I would definitely recommend getting a splint, but a different brand if you have an out of the ordinary-sized foot.I ordered a large, for women's size 11+. I wear size 12-1/2 and have large calves. Whoever designed the adjustment straps was not thinking about the fact that people might need to adjust the straps beyond a skinny ankle or calf. The velcro gets stuck in the buckle making it very difficult to adjust, and when I do finally get it to the right length, there is not enough room left on the velcro to reach to the other attaching velcro. The same with the toe pad, the velcro is so small it can only adjust about 1/4 inch in either direction, which means if you pretty much can't adjust the toe pad. The hard plastic of the splint is also very narrow. I have a somewhat narrow foot anyway for my size shoe, and the inner foot bone rubs up against it. If my foot were any bigger it wouldn't fit. So basically what I'm saying is that they have not thought much about proportions with the large size splint. If you have a shoe size much above the minimum, you may run into difficulties. But for $24 what can you expect.

It feels so much better. I do have to tighten the straps to ...
I wear a size 9 in women's and I decided to order the medium. I have been suffering from foot inflammation for over six months. I went in for a cortisone shot but it was still hurting. The splint came on a Saturday It came quickly and it is very light. I put it on to take a nap for about an hour and I immediately started to feel relief. I have worn it for the last three night's and pain has significantly subsided. It feels so much better. I do have to tighten the straps to fit my calf because they are small. But you can definitely adjust the straps. The one thing that I don't like it having the space between the foot and boot. I use a dry washcloth to make my foot straight and flat otherwise there is to much space. Overall I recommend this product.

Not a good product for nighttime use. Very bulky and odd for night use.
I ordered this for my right foot/leg, the buckles are hard to use when this boot is placed on your left leg. The buckles are on the outer side of the foot and with plantars fasciitis you know it hurts to move the foot around. I tried to find a way to move the buckles to the inner side of the foot but they are permanently fixed and can't be moved. It is also too big and bulky for me to wear at night. I'm back to the drawing board with hopes of finding something that works better for my plantars fasciitis. I can't say I recommend this product.

Don't buy. Worst purchase ever. Made my foot pain worse. Tape your foot before purchasing boot.
