New Balance Women's WO790 Light Hiking Boot

I was needing a replacement for my ASICS trail shoes, and decided something more like a boot would be great in the winter weather. These New Balance sneakers/boots are the perfect solution. The shoes are comfortable and supportive, with an excellent grip in icy weather. Word to the wise however, they run a little narrow. I generally take a 9.5 B, but in these it was good I got the C/D, gave me plenty of room for my socks as they definitely do fit the shape of the foot closely.

The shoes would be extremely comfortable if only had I bought half size larger. It is true what has been detected by other buyers: these shoes are a little smaller than those sold before (which were not made in Vietnam).I found them also a bit hot for this period and the foot does not breathe.Considering their cost, one can find better on the market. It is a pity, because so far New Balance had never disappointed (and they are very nice ...).

These are the first pair of hiking boots I've bought online. I tried on and fit perfect - I got per a few comments on line - 1/2 size larger since you do not want your toe at the tip of shoe. These shoes are light weight, comfortable, and the price was great. I wore a couple of time to break in before I go on another hike - shoes are comfortable!!! thank you

I felt I would be able to give a detailed review of these shoes due to my job and where I live so here goes. I live in Washington state and work for a major package delivery service so I am always on my feet on all kinds of terrain. Gravel,rocks,moss, puddles, grass etc etc. These shoes are narrow but are true to size (8-9-10) I had to buy the wides just to get my feet in, but after a month these shoes are amazing. The tread is great, I haven't slipped on wet stairs or rocks. The tread is easy to clean( no lil nooks to keep icky stuff you stepped in) first week they are very stiff but once broken is they feel like a cloud around your feet. Keep heat in so on warm days your feet will be hot! Compared to a regular NB shoe I can understand why they say they are water proof, but they are not what I would consider water proof. After puddles and wet grass I would find my feet damp, not soggy just damp, my feet would not be cold tho like you usually find after them getting wet. They also dry quickly. HUGE PLUS IN MY BOOK. Shoes are light in weight.

I have a really hard time finding shoes that are wide enough, and give my arches and heels good support. These were p-e-r-f-e-c-t.I have never had shoes fit me this well. I work in an 170,000 sq. foot building with concrete floors and I have to do ALLOT of walking. Several workers have ended up with planters fasciitis, and mine were on their way too. I started wearing these, and I my foot pain got loads better. I took them hiking, and they have excellent grip. When you walk on pavement you can hear them grip like crazy. They are flexible, and support your ankles well. I highly recommend these for anyone who is on their feet allot, and are also active outdoors.

Nice looking shoe but it runs a half size too small, and is uncomfortable because the back of the shoe rides too high up the ankle.

The shoes fit length wise, but was still too narrow even though I went up a half size from my true size. If not for that they would have been fine.

I ordered a 9.5 because sometimes the toe box is low and pinches my toes. This shoe does run a bit small but if you order it a half size larger, you will have one of the best hiking shoes around. I loved the first pair so much that I purchased a second pair for the future. It is a great shoe for the price.
