Great food, reasonably priced.
We've been feeding our dogs this for at least 10 years, and that includes puppies and seniors. It's very well balanced, and we never have a weight problem with our dogs. Their stools are nice and firm, and really, isn't that what it's all about? Their coats are nice and shiny, they love the food, and no one has had any allergic reaction to it. It's medium-small sized dry bits are fine for our miniature schnauzers, and larger breeds. I think dogs smaller than 10 pounds might struggle with the size. To be honest, there was a recall on this food a couple of years ago. I did try another brand, and wasn't as happy with it. Our dogs gained weight on the same amount of measured food, and I had difficulty locating the same flavor two times in a row at the same store. We bought this food because it was in the "Whole Dog Journal" top ten food list and compared to everything there, it was the best price. We do add a big tablespoon of Wellness canned at mealtime. They all love it, and so do we.

... Life Stages for about 4 months and he did great on it
***** UPDATE! I changed the review to 5 stars from one because we found out that the date we were looking at was a code for the print date of the bag. The actual best by date was lost in the printing on the back of the bag. It blends in so it's hard to see it. I emailed Canidae when I got the replacement bag and they sent me a picture of the bag where the expiration date is supposed to be. It's actually good until September 2016! Took the old food to another vet and he said the intestinal parasite was probably due to the puppy's stress level and eating adult food. My 1 year old dog has been on this for 6 months and is very healthy. So sorry for the incorrect review! This dog food is excellent! ----------------------------- We have had our dog on Life Stages for about 4 months and he did great on it. Just got a new bag in and haven't opened it yet. We did open t g w Pure Essentials Puppy food, and started the switch into our puppy's food. She immediately got bloody diarrhea. We stopped her on the new food per the vet and she is immediately better. We were told to check the expiration dates because both the Canidae dog foods, especially Life Stages, can spoil, and sure enough they expired in May 2015. We are requesting a full replacement and I'm sure Amazon will accommodate us. They have been great so far.

One Happy Dog!
I have tried the store bought dog food for almost 6 years before deciding upon Canidae All Life Stages Formula. I had looked at the reviews for this product and given the price and the outcome of the reviews I thought I would give it a try. This is in my opinion a very good alternative for anybody wanting to give their dog a healthier life style. I had noticed that my lab was itching an awful lot, shedding was uncontrollable and she always seemed hungry so I had gone to the vet for a check up. The vet told me about changing her food from Iams to Canidae All Life Stages Formula and that was one of the best decisions I have ever made! I have been using this exclusively for about 6 months now. Within a couple of weeks I noticed the shedding reduced, her coat looked and felt healthier and she seemed to not beg for food 24/7. I like the fact that it has no wheat, corn, soy, fillers, antibiotics, hormones, artificial flavors, colors or preservatives which I believe was the reason for my dogs health issues. It is the smaller size kibble so my dog can digest it better. The price was a little higher than what you would find in the supermarket but not too much more and definitely worth giving your dog a healthier life style and it is made in the U.S.A. So if you are on the fence about giving this a try I would highly recommend this product.

QUALITY FOOD FOR THE PRICE!
We recently rescued a beagle. She is 6 years old, and we don't know much about her background. She is in excellent health and the sweetest dog! We had some Avoderm dog food left over from our 11 year old beloved beagle who passed away. This didn't really fit our new dog's needs because of her weight. I researched dog foods, and for the price and quality this seemed to be a good fit. We checked this food out at our local Petco, but it was at least $10.00 more there. I ordered it from Amazon and it came quickly. It did take our dog a little time to get used to it. I added it gradually over the course of about 3 weeks to the Avoderm. We had no clue as to what she was eating before, but she was very overweight. It has been about a month and she is doing wonderfully on it. She has trimmed down to what the veterinarian said her weight should be. Her coat is shiny and she looks great. We couldn't afford to get her the most expensive food, but the ingredients are better than most and the price is good on Amazon. I am giving her the recommended amount from the package. I think she was just eating table scraps before we got her. She looks forward to eating and she takes her time because she has to chew the pieces. They are not too big, just the right size. The expiration on the bag was great and the food was fresh.

Good Quality Food
I did some research on what food would be best for our great dane. This brand of food had very good reviews and I liked that it had multiple protein sources. Unfortunately our dane did not like it. We used this bag to transition her from the old food to this food and she seemed to like it. It wasn't until we purchased the 45lb bag that she decided she wouldn't eat it.

The best food we have tried so far for our dog.
We have a 12 year old Mastiff/Sheepdog that is very picky about dry food, and also seem to have developed a sensitive stomach. For the past few months, we have tried a number of high end dog foods that either she wouldn't eat or she vomited after eating them. The Canidae is a dry food that she likes, and it stays down. This food also contains antioxidants, probiotic cultures, and omega-3 fatty acids that are good for her. This food also meets the AAFCO nutritional standards which, in my research, is something to look for in choosing a dog food. In addition, the percent of fat is 60% of the level of protein. If the percentage of fat as compared to the protein is more than 70% - 80% you are feeding your dog too much fat and not enough protein. I am very happy with the quality of this dry dog food, and more importantly my girl will eat it.

My dogs didn’t like it
I guess I just didn’t like the taste I will put chicken on top and make it try to taste good and they would just eat the stuff out of it and then leave the dry food it didn’t like it even after a week of time to mix it with other food they pick it out

Great for a corgi puppy
I did hours of research, and for corgis, this was the most recommended brand. I can see why. It has the right levels of protein and vitamins to support her unusual growth rate - essentially a medium dog with dwarf legs. We started her on this when she was 9 weeks old, and now she just passed 6 months. Her vet is thrilled with her progress, and all of the technicians commented on how beautiful she is. Her coat is soft, her eyes are bright, and she is growing at the perfect rate. Her bowel movements are good: firm poops with almost no smell. Perhaps most importantly, though, is she LOVES the taste. Wolfs it down as if it were the most delicious thing on Earth. We had to get one of those maze bowls to slow her down.
