This is the second summer I buy this product. I like it because I can get my hair looking darker temporarily. It is great that the it now comes with a pump dispenser, it took me half the time to get the product in my hair! I split my hair in at least 6 sections and apply it evenly. I keep the product at least one hour. I'm a natural dark brunette and this is the result after leaving the product for 1h 30min. Pretty dark imo. I also believe they have changed the formula because it detangled my hair much much better than last year! Super happy and highly recommend.

I USED THIS TWICE BEFORE WRITING A REVIEW So I’ll start with the pros 1- leaves a great colour in between needing to get to the hairdressers to dye hair. 2- THATS IT ! Cons 1- impossible to get out of the bottle 2- will leave your skin a different colour unless your wear gloves (for the darker colours) 3- doesn’t seem to soften the hair 4- smells a bit weird 5- made my normally soft shiny hair dry and lifeless. 6- Expensive I’m not saying don’t buy it, some people have had better experiences with this product than others, however mine wasn’t great. Did leave a nice colour but I had to wash and shampoo my hair after using this so that my hair was softer. There are no instructions on how to use this, I used it first on wet hair, second time on dry hair, results where the same. I had to unscrew the lid to get the product out because it is so thick and gloopy.. stand it upside down first that helps.. All in all I was disappointed, especially as it is so expensive.

Absolutely the best product I’ve used on hair to give it colour and AMAZING SHINE . Use strong gloves to apply and whilst washing off .Definitely leave for over 20 minutes

As u can see from my photo it's not suitable for blonde/bleached hair. I had brown roots with blonde mids/ends.. And my hair went blue on bleached parts, with darker brown roots.. NOT BLUE BLACK But it wasn't the products fault..i didn't read instructions .. I washed my hair 20 times with clarifying shampoo and the blue wouldn't budge but the colour washed off my roots So i added some pink to make the blue purple. So id say permanent on bleached hair... As for blue black on medium brown roots i would say FAIL. still looked brown not black. And omg talk about hard to squeeze out the bottle... I'd recommend putting product in bowl.. Overall im happy with the colour but it's not what i was wanting to begin with... One last thing is my hair which is dry and damaged felt and looked so much better even after all the washes... So it's a brilliant conditioner.. Good luck... READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.

I used lustrous ebony on my natural curly hair that tends to be a dark honey, since I wanted the cool tone effect. It made it darker, very shiny and looking natural. It didn't affect my curl pattern. I used the entire bottle three times and my hair is long. The only downside is that it only lasts one wash, not ten.

Unbelievably crap. The bottle is made of rigid plastic so cannot be squeezed to dispense product. I have dyed jet black hair, and purchased Ebony, the blue black shade. It has left a purple / brown shade on my hair. My hair is actually dryer than before use, and will not keep it's style. Didn't see any improvement in shine, you get better results with Wonder Water. Oh, and it transfers to from your hair to clothing, days after use. Avoid like the plague

No instructions on how to use on the bottle, it stains worse than hair dye. My hands are stained blue!!! Doesn’t say anywhere on the bottle to use gloves. Stained all my bath. And it is a nightmare to get out of the bottle. Not worth it at all for the amount of shine it put in my hair it’s such a faff on, worse than dying your hair.

Lustrous Ebony Good 1. Natural Blonde to Black, it gave my hair a purplish tinge, but most permanent dyes leave a slight purple, blue or brown tinge. 2. My hair is very long, full of braids and dreads... if anyone else has similar hair, you know it doesn't need and shouldn't be washed every day. Semi permanent hair dye is a bit healthier for your hair, the environment and if you're only doing your roots is lot more cost effective. 3. It had a mild nice smells and left my hair shiny (but I only did my roots) BAD 1. What a mess! I think it was more difficult than permanent hair dye to get off my wrists and forehead... 2. ...followup, don't get caught in the rain without an umbrella! If you're using the dark colours you will look like something out of a horror movie! 3. The bottle leaks. I screwed the cap on as type as it goes. (after my first application I left it tilted in my bathroom, now my tiles are painted indigo... my shampoo doesn't, leak, my conditioner doesn't like, my hair gel doesn't leak) OVER ALL I think it's a good product for SEMI PERMANENT HAIR DYE, better than the aerosols or the sponges, but I think maybe I will stick with permanent hair dye touch ups in the future.
