Sheamoisture Soothing Body Lotion for Troubled Skin African Black Soap Lotion with Shea Butter 13 oz

FIRST, this is the best lotion on the planet, largely due to the African black soap ingredients. My gripe is w this recent bottle, the lotion isn't as thick, highly needed for longevity and fixing troubled dry, eczema skin. So not happy w this change. I suspect this is due to all the complaints of it being "too thick ", are you people serious? It is thick because it's good, it works to heal your dry cracked dusty skin. Why complain? Remove top and go old school. It's not Rocket Science. Now, w thinner lotion, quality will perish all because a few couldn't figure it out. Has thinner lotion EVER healed your complicated ashy skin? NO. If it ain't BROKE - LEAVE it be... Maybe change the bottle design, not lotion consistency. "You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all the people all of the time". Why change for the few when the many aren't complaining? FYI: Let me teach you folks how to write a proper review. The stars (in this case 5) is for the actual product. The written review is WHERE you then voice your concerns not related to actual product (in this case - bottle design). There, see¿ Also, I have a bottle from a while ago, the size hasn't changed. I will check ingredients for why it's thinner now. It doesn't have a "chemical smell", it smells of baby lotion meets powder freshness w a musk undertone. It's quite unique! Anyone who smells it falls in love at first sniff. :) Both my adult son & daughter uses it now. EDIT: This lotion usually clears my skin fast, keeps it moisturized the moment I start applying yet as suspected, it no longer has that effect so I'm back to edit my review. This less thick, less rich n creamy version isn't working. This, the only lotion I've found in all my yrs on planet earth no longer works because you've changed consistently thus ingredients altered for the few that couldn't get its top off? Why not change bottle design, or, create separate version for those & keep all customers happy? Please make it make sense. This is sad. Left at 5 star for high priority and visibility, but the stars have fallen from grace. ☆☆☆

I absolutely love this lotion. Smells great, so soft and smooth! I bought this lotion because I've been switching to cleaner, non-toxic products for myself and my family, and have gone through many bottles already. I recently downloaded the Yuka app, to scan the barcode of products in my home and see how safe or hazardous they are based on the ingredients. I was SHOCKED to find that the Vaseline Cocoa lotion I used for nearly 10 years has a 0 out of 100 rating due to hazardous ingredients such as petroleum and cyclotetrasiloxane. This app even goes into explaining why these ingredients are harmful (go download it now!). I was so so happy to scan my Shae Moisture lotion to find that it has a 100/100 rating - which was a VERY RARE SCORE among all of the products I scanned, even those marketed as cleaner, better options. My only minor complaint about this product is the bottle. Due to the thickness of this lotion (which I love), it's super hard to squeeze it out of the bottle. It really should come with a pump, and I think some of their lotions actually do, so I would really love to see this one come that way. Due to the safe and natural ingredients of this lotion, and their 100/100 rating, I will definitely continue to buy this and other Shae Moisture products.

I gave it 5 stars for the soothing effect. But no stars for removable of product out of bottle it’s so frustrating . I bought the first bottle it had a pump on it. So I save the pump for further use ( I order two more bottles) PS I could not get the pump on the other bottles. Now trying to get the crème to come out of the other bottles is no deal . So sad because i love the lotion,but frustrates me so much because it’s impossible to remove the cream.. I will throw the whole bottle in the damn garbage .

What in the world? Why is the lotion so much thinner??? I love this lotion and have purchased it for years. The quality has not deteriorated greatly, but I am considering other options. It has the most pleasant smell, takes care of all ashiness, and leaves skin with a subtle sheen. Please bring back the old formula. I don't mind digging the last of the lotion out of the bottom of the bottle. It's worth it!

I love this lotion. The moisture is long lasting and absorbs well into my skin but it’s very buttery which can feel a little “tacky/sticky”. It has a lovely warm musky vanilla scent to it (it’s hard to describe the scent but I really like this one and I’ve gotten complimented on it)

I use this stuff after my nightly shower as an evening moisturizer This stuff is THICK. Like, easily marketable as a body butter thick. As others have said, it's tough to get it out of the container. I just store it upside down and that seems to help a little. I'm sure as the product goes, so will my patience. If possible, see if you can somehow scoop it out of its current receptacle into a tub of some kind I've been a longtime sufferer of acne, and this stuff moisturizes my skin without causing breakouts. I was previously using a local goat milk lotion and I loved it, but the salicylic acid and other ingredients in this lotion give me that extra oomph of skin lovin' I needed. It does have the black soap smell like the other SheaMoisture black soap products, but that's fine and I really enjoy it. I don't use this in the morning under my makeup, as it would make my skin greasy. No thanks, ya'll. But I love it as a night moisturizer UPDATE: After using this for many months, I switched to CeraVe for my morning moisturizer and a glycolic acid lotion for evenings. That seems to help my acne the very best. However, I have a friend with terrible eczema on her hands and arms, and I gave her the rest of my container. She LOVES IT! When she's diligent about putting it on, her eczema is seriously diminished. She really loves it and her skin does, too.

Fantastic for dry, sensitive skin. I LOVE THE SCENT,its very subtle yet lingers for a while on my skin. It smells like oatmeal, vanilla and a note of hmm... Incense? It pairs beautiful with my perfume. Everyone in my family loves it. It's unisex! I've also used it on my face 👍

I'm not sure what to make of this- I first bought this lotion a year or two ago and it was absolutely amazing, but this time around it's different. I think the formula must have changed. The color and consistency are different - the lotion had a yellowish tint and was quite thick, so thick that it was a little hard to get out the bottle. Now the lotion is white and thinner. Unfortunately it now doesn't work as well anymore. It used to be an extremely rich moisturizer that saved my excema prone, dry winter skin, but now... it doesn't. It's still somewhat moisturizing, but it's no longer rich enough and it now appears to be unable to save my skin. Kind of sad, unsure what to do now. Still smells nice and works as a normal everyday lotion, but that's it.

Costumava comprar esse produto antes, tinha um textura muito consistente. Agora está mais líquido. E o preço no mesmo patamar.... Não vale a pena.

The best moisturiser ever! It's just a shame that it's so expensive on here sometimes and often out of stock for weeks. It's my favourite and I love the coconut and hibiscus one, which is hard to find now. I suffer from psoriasis and both of these are really good for my skin, I wish they were more widely available and not quite so expensive.
