Very happy with the results I’ve been using Garnier hair dye for years, and it’s still my go-to brand. Compared to other brands I’ve tried, I find it less damaging to my hair. It also does a great job of achieving the advertised colour, although, of course, the final result can vary depending on your natural hair colour. I find Garnier one of the most reliable brands when it comes to getting the shade I expect. The product also arrived in perfect condition, as always. I’m very happy with it and will continue using it!

First off, the colour result is really nice. It’s a warm, rich brown with subtle golden undertones that look natural, not brassy or overly orange. I have fine-to-medium hair that was previously dyed a lighter brown, and the coverage was solid – it even hid most of my early grey strands without looking too heavy. The formula feels conditioning as you apply it, and my hair didn’t feel dry or damaged after rinsing, which is a big plus for a permanent dye. Application is straightforward too, with clear instructions and all the tools you need included in the box – perfect for at-home use. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is that the golden tones were a bit more prominent than I expected, especially in direct sunlight. If you’re after a more neutral dark brown, you might want to go a shade cooler. Also, the scent is quite strong (as with most hair dyes) and lingered on my hair for a day or two, which was a bit noticeable. All in all, it’s a reliable option that delivers on its promise of natural-looking colour for most hair types. Would recommend if you’re after a warm, dark golden brown – just be prepared for the slight scent and more noticeable gold flecks in bright light.

Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Crème – Shade 5 Mocha Brown I’ve been using this hair dye for years and it never lets me down. It gives excellent grey coverage and leaves my hair looking shiny, glossy, and healthy. The colour comes out a little dark at first, but after a few washes it settles into the perfect mocha brown. Reliable, gentle, and always a great result.

Plus - covered grey well this far (1.5 weeks since using) - hair felt soft and well conditioned after - easy to use Minus - this is the fourth hair wash since using and the water still is coloured with each rinse - usually use another brand and I do still definitely prefer that (accept that’s personal preference and another may well like this brand best) - there’s a synthetic colour hue to this dye Overall verdict Not bad and would possibly use again if my usual dye isn’t available again. Wouldn’t run to get it another time otherwise.

My main priority is cruelty free and vegan. This hits both those boxes. I used Garnier Olia Iridescent Brown previously but they seem to have discontinued the colour. At first I wasn’t too impressed, the smell is stronger and it’s a thicker cream. However, this is a very near match on my hair to the previous colour. My roots are white and this takes really well. I was also complimented by my hairdresser on the colour.
