Pleasant taste, good texture, pure, 3 years left of shelf life
Received: June 2022Best By: April 2025Certified/Specialized: Organic, vegan, raw,Product of: UzbekistanIngredients: Organic dried jujubeWe’ve never had jujube before (well, that weren’t candy). I’d been looking for a good brand of jujube to use in white kimchi and this looks like just the ticket. These taste rather like dried apples, the texture is good, and they’re very pure. Although these have three years left of their shelf life, I’ll probably vacuum-pack them to maintain their flavor the best. Very pleased with these jujubes. As the parent of kiddos with autism, there are causes near and dear to my heart. Let Amazon donate to your favorite charity! Super dry, almost crunchy
I LOVE jujubees and was excited to try these. I will blend them up for teas, which will be great. They are not soft and chewy like whole jujubees, so just know what you're buying. They are very dried up and almost crunchy.

I don’t care for the flavor
I thought I would like these because they are cut in 1/2, but I don’t care for the flavor.

Interesting flavor, with hints of other spices.
I am new to these, and since I like dates I thought I would try these... be forewarned, they are not the same flavor or consistency, but with that said I quickly grew to like their flavor. They are very hard and chewy out of the bag, too hard for my weak teeth and crowns, but if you can get into the habit of popping one in your mouth and sucking on it until it is ready to be more easily chewed, then that works too. There are no instructions on the order page or on the packaging as to how to eat or prepare them, so that left me to net surf. I discovered you can soak them in some water and that will soften them up, and get them to be easier to eat... so I did that and yes! They can get a little soggy, so I try not to put too much water in the container with them, and I place them meat side down to absorb. I find they taste mildly sweet, with kind of cinnamon and spice overtones. I will like to find something else to do with them in a recipe! I think they are touted to be healthy, but eating too many of them can cause some digestive trouble, but you will have to eat a lot of them to do that.

The sweetness is perfect...
i had never eaten Jujube fruit before so i'm happy i got to try it.i got this 2 pound bag with the dried Jujube halves so i opened the bag and tried one.i ate one and it was too hard for me to eat it like that, so i poured a cup of hot water over them and they are delicious.First i have to say i loved drinking the juice of them and eating them soaked out of the cup.The sweetness from them is totally perfect.i love the sweetness they have.it is a very special sweetness with a extraordinary taste of the fruit.i have to say i never expected this fruit to taste that good.i ate this cup full of soaked PlantLife organic pitted Jujube fruit pretty fast and wanted more.it is almost addictive. This Jujube fruit is sun-dried, pitted, raw-food, wild picked and with no sugar added.it's also non-gmo, unsulfured and organic.i am eating more and am enjoying it.i definitely give it 5 stars.i hope this review is helpful.Sabiene :)

Organic, no sugar or chemicals
I'd never had jujubes before, but I do adore a Chinese herbal tea made of longan and red dates (which are jujubes) so I was very interested to try the fruit on its own. It doesn't have much of a flavor, but the health benefits are pretty good. This large 2 lb. bag contains jujube halves, and they appear to be hard and brittle - but don't worry. To eat them raw, pop one in your mouth and let it absorb the warmth and saliva for about ten seconds. Then it becomes soft and chewy!Because there are tons of health benefits to these fruits, it'll definitely be worth your while to eat them. If you don't fancy them raw, you can chop them up and add them to fruit tarts, puddings, soak them in overnight yogurt with chia seeds, toss them in your blender while making smoothies or other nutrient-rich but not very tasty treats. I really appreciate that this bag has no added sugar, no chemicals, preservatives, and is totally organic. So it's doubly healthy.

Mild sweet flavor; texture is spongy, sort of like a freeze-dried apple that has gone soft
I’ve had dried jujubes before, and this is pretty much in line with my expectations. The texture of these is dry and spongy. If you’ve ever had freeze-dried apples that were crisp and crunchy and then they absorbed moisture and became chewy, it’s kind of like that. These are also very aromatic and have a good, mild flavor. I’ve also had dried dates before, which look a lot like jujubes, and I’ve found that dates can have very different textures from each other and definitely different from these jujubes. Pitted dates tend to be dry and chewy but not spongy. Basically, like most dried fruit. However, dates that have their pits in them can be creamy and gooey, which is my preference with dates. As the texture of these jujubes is very different from both the of the textures I’ve experienced with dates, I don’t think that I would say that if you like dates you’ll like these. I think that dates have more of a caramel flavor whereas these are more just mildly sweet. I might put the flavor of this as a cross between a date and a red apple.
