My “friend” stole the first one I ever owned and I went a few years without one. I don’t know how I managed to live without it. This cup is never not in my general vicinity. I’m going to buy another one because I use it for water but sometimes I put tea in it and it’s hard to get the tea stains out but that’s no fault of the cup tea just stains everything. So I’ll have one for water and one for tea. Tea stays boiling hot for hours and ice stays frozen for hours this cup is just a dream come true. You will drop it many times over the course of your life and it will NEVER break. The first one I had had been through some serious abuse and it’ll show some scars from extra bad drops mostly on the bottom but the textured finish hold up impressively well. It’s really hard to scratch the paint off you really have to try in order to mess up the finish. When you drop the cup from 4ft on to a hard floor there’s about a 50% chance the lid will come off and your drink will spill. It’s unfortunate but I would rather live with that risk than have to unscrew a lid every time I want to refill. I drink tons and tons of water so simply being able to pull the lid off is worth the risk of the drink spilling when dropped.
