Favorite pens ever
Favorite pens ever since trying them. The ink is very smooth with a true black color after it dries. I have used every pen in the box with absolutely no leakage. The thin 0.38mm tip allows for effortlessly beautiful writing.

Excellent set of pens
My handwriting is atrocious; however, I find it is because I tend to apply a lot of pressure when I write using larger ball point pens. Once I switched to smaller sized ball points, my hand writing greatly improved. Now it was just a matter of finding a good set of small ball point pens that were good value for the money, and these fit the bill perfectly! The flow is great, understand though being a smaller ball point you can’t just sling this pen around at great speed and expect it doesn’t skip. If you write at a good steady space though, it will write smoothly without any breaks in the pen markings. These pens are light weight, and feel very soft and smooth in the hand. This may come across as ‘cheap’ feeling to some, but personally I find it comfortable. Overall if you are looking for a set of affordable fine ball point pens, I recommend these!

Great Product
This product is a fantastic find! It's reasonably priced, making it accessible for most budgets without compromising on quality. The product is exactly as described, and its usefulness cannot be overstated. I've found it to be incredibly practical and efficient in meeting my needs. The attention to detail is impressive, and the performance is on par with more expensive alternatives. If you're looking for something reliable, well-made, and at a fair price point, this is the perfect choice. Highly recommended!

I’m coming back for more
These are my new favorite pens. I have very small handwriting, and these pens fill my need as a writer. Great ink flow, smooth feel, standard size for hand and a great value for the price point. I WILL PURCHASE AGAIN!!!

Uniball 0.38mm black ink
If you like 0.7mm pens, the 0.38 m will be too thin for you. If you like the feeling and thin ink of a 0.5mm, then the 0.38mm might not be any better for you. Stick to 0.5mm. Compared to the 0.5mm, the 0.38mm is very thin and precise, though the feeling of writing with it is less desirable and feels more demanding as it is pretty much like writing with a needle. I will say though, this pen is magnificent otherwise, and the ink is very bold, very thin, and perfect for someone who likes to write small. Personally, I planned on using these pens for notetaking, but I found myself to prefer the 0.5mm more. Now, I just use these 0.38mm pens for making 11x8 notecards for my classes, and is perfect for when I need it.

Fine lines with quality ink
So far so good with these Uni-ball One 0.38mm pens. Bought a box of 12 for just under $11. I like fine-tip pens, but it’s sometimes tough to find them, especially ones that work well. Thus far, these have produced nice, fine lines and have good ink flow. The ink hasn’t smudged at all, even on paper types (thermal imaging) that I typically struggle writing on with certain pens. I might also order the .5mm style to see how those write, but for now I’m loving these. The pens also look good. Simple design. They’ve even made it difficult to see where the upper and lower portions meet. Yes, they unscrew from each other and you can replace the ink cartridges when they run out (if that’s your thing). The metal clip is very cool and doesn’t have any edges on it that might trash the pen pocket inside my suit jacket. Fun to fidget with as well.

GBB-0036 - Uni-ball One Gel Pen 0.38mm 12-Pack Black Ink – A Clean Room's Best Friend
This is GoBag Item 0036. Think of it like that high-end sports car everybody drools over in the showroom—shiny, smooth, promises the moon—until you take it off the pavement onto a dirt road. Then it just sits there looking pretty while you wish you'd brought the old reliable pickup. I got excited reading the hype. Bright white barrel? Easy to spot even if it tumbles into leaves or mud—big plus for low-light rummaging. The clip? Solid thick wire, glides right over a heavy jacket collar, thick jeans pocket, or the strap on your pack without snagging or bending. Squeeze the top and it pops off clean—no wrestling. That's thoughtful engineering. Ink flows jet-black at first, lays down razor-fine lines, and laughs at water. Snow melts on your notebook? No smear. Accidental dunk in a creek? Words stay sharp. That's the waterproof pigment ink doing its job—real survival value there. But here's where the dream crashes. That 0.38mm tip is delicate as a glass Christmas ornament in a toddler's hands. One bounce off concrete or a rock, and it starts skipping, giving you half-lines with a gritty scrape like dragging a key across a chalkboard. You curse, shake it, try again—same story. Next pen from the pack fires up smooth... until you hit regular notebook paper or something with a bit of tooth. Paper fibers sneak in, clog it, and you're back to scratchy inconsistent lines. Switch to fancy smooth paper to baby it? Great for a while, but around halfway through the ink, it fades to ghost writing and that annoying drag again. Dust, lint, angle, who knows—it's finicky. These things shine in a climate-controlled office or a clean desk setup. Drop one once in the field? Your notes turn into hieroglyphs when you need them legible most. In a real bug-out or SHTF scenario, when your hands are cold, dirty, shaking from adrenaline, and the paper's damp or crappy, you can't afford a tool that quits halfway or demands perfect conditions. Your life might hang on a quick map sketch, a message left for somebody, or logging coordinates. A pen that flakes out is worse than no pen—it's false hope. I've tested these twice over the years, same results both times. Design hasn't toughened up. They're still the prima donna of gel pens. For GoBag duty, they earn 3 out of 5 - and that's being extremely generous. Nice to look at, killer ink when it behaves, but too fragile for the chaos we're prepping for. Save your money and grab something battle-proven instead—like a solid ballpoint that doesn't care if you drop it in gravel or write upside down on wet paper. Higher price doesn't always mean higher value when reliability is the only currency that counts. Choose tools that stay with you till the end, not ones that bail when things get ugly. Your future self will thank you.

Enjoyable to write with.
Really enjoyable to write with. They put a precise and controllable deposit of ink onto the paper, suitable for fine work e.g. filling in the boxes on forms. Handwriting flows nicely. I prefer this 0.35 mm tip to the 0.5 ml tip version I've bought previously.
