VGA to HDMI Adapter, AMALINK Converter VGA Male to HDMI Female 1080p Video adaptador for Computer,Laptop,Projector

We had quite a few I7 PC's that are still doing the job with built in DVI and VGA ports and some had HDMI ports as well. The problem was updating older PC's with new HDMI video cards was ridiculous for the price. We used DVI to HDMI converters, and found these VGA to HDMI converters. You will need 1 USB port to power it, and it also has a audio out cable from your PC if you need audio to your Monitor or Screen, or Projector. These are working well and we are getting the HDMI resolution on our monitors just fine. Great product for the price.

This adapter does exactly what it is intended to do. I have an old Dell Windows 7 computer with only a VGA video output. I bought a new monitor that did not have a VGA input, so I needed a way to convert the video signal. This adapter and a HDMI - HDMI cable did the conversion. Note 1. You may need to manually set the monitor's input to the correct HDMI port. Note 2: the colors and brightness on a new monitor may be odd. You need to calibrate the new screen with a device like the i1Display 2 or a similar calibration instrument to get the colors right.

UPDATE: The noise on speakers problem I had reported earlier is solved when I connect the 3.5 mm audio connector into the converter and the projector/TV. The minor downside to this is that I have to connect the 3.5 mm jack even though a) VGA does NOT carry an audio signal and b) I am NOT using my projector/TV speakers. Two star rating upgraded to 4 stars, one star removed for this minor flawThe electrical isolation between the power and signal circuits is less than ideal. What this means for you dear user is that the speakers on your projector/TV will start chattering with static when you connect cable using this converter. Also the image will start blanking out and reappearing when converter is in use. I did not see any previous negative reviews so maybe I have a faulty unit.

Item stopped working after 3 days of use. I had the same problem with the exact same product (although that one worked for 2-3 weeks) before and thought maybe I just got a bad one. Nope, 2/2 failures. This product is terrible and stops working after a very short time. Do not buy.

I bought this because our church upgraded to hdmi transmitters and I needed to convert the vga output to hdmi. I plugged it in and was disappointed at first only to realize it comes with a usb to micro cable the supplies it's 5 volt operating power. Once I plugged the power in, voila! We have picture. It feels a little flimsy on the vga connector side, but with it screwed in, it seems to be working fine. Pretty cool little gizmo.

Simple, small device that perfectly converts my old laptop VGA output to my HDMI TV. I needed a short USB cable to power it from a USB port, a simple 1/8" audio cable to add the audio to the HDMI signal, and of course an HDMI cable to go from this device to my TV. The device and cables stores easily in a pocket of my laptop case and installs in about a minute. Video and sound on the TV are just right and very clear.

I bought this to use for our movie day in school. I use to connect my laptop to the projector with a VGA connection. It works perfectly and I got what I wanted for a great price.
