Judging from the other reviews here, it seems that at least one seller has been "filling" orders for the advertised brush by sending a smaller, much inferior brush that quickly loses hairs. I was a little concerned ordering one, but took a chance on it. My order had a"Sold by" of "Valentino Garemi". The brush that arrived here had the correct 8-inch length, and the hardwood handle was marked "Valentino Garemi" and "Made in Germany", as in the listing's photos. The bristles/hairs were soft and shined my first two pair of shoes nicely. As for losing hairs, after my first pair of shoes I swept the floor carefully and found two lost hairs. After my second pair of shoes I swept the floor again and found zero lost hairs. I take that as a sign that this is the old-school buff brush that I've been looking for ever since my last house move, when my trusty brush from the 1970's disappeared. The new one looks better and seems to work just as well.

Excellent brush. It will shed a little bristle for the first 5 or six uses. I have two. If you buy quality shoes and you take care of them this brush will last a lifetime. Best in class.

This brush is super soft and performs much better than other horsehair brushes I've owned. The bristles are long (which is where the softness comes from) and quality/durability is great. As near as I can tell I haven't had any bristles fall out and I keep this by my shoes to just give a quick (and kind of enjoyable) brighten-up without needing to do a full polish. I see this as a lifetime purchase so don't need to buy again, but if something did happen to my brush I'd immediately replace it with the exact same one.

This is better than what you find in a big box store. Not super high quality like a Kent, but well made. It's larger than most shoe brushes and I like that.

Get it. Worth every penny. It loses hairs but is normal on a brush like this.

Nice quality. I use it for lymphatic massaging. It is just the right size and stiffness. Well made.
