Kefir Fermenter: Container for Milk & Water Kefir Grains Large Size - 210 cc Review: Great item, really works - This has made rotating my Kefir ferment sooooo much easier Review: Worth Every Penny – Saves Time and Makes Perfect Kefir! - I’ve been using this kefir container for several months now, and I can confidently say it’s a high-quality product made of safe, odor-free, food-grade plastic. At first, I thought the price was too high, but looking back, it has saved me hours of time and effort—totally worth it. I was so happy with my first one, and this is my second purchase as a gift! Both orders arrived quickly and were well-packaged. I’ve also recommended it to over a dozen friends, and not a single one has had any issues. The kefir always turns out thick and creamy—just like in my photo! A little tip: give the jar a shake now and then to help the milk mix well, and keep it at room temperature for the best results. Highly recommend this container—happy kefiring!

Kefir fermentation basket
This little gadget is an awesome product, making Kefir is a lot easier with it. Since I bought I have made 4 quarts of kefir in a fraction of time, cleaner, and faster. I love it, couldn’t do without it, now that I have experienced its benefits.

It's a convenience tool.
It's okay. I'm new to making kefir and I use it for now because it's convenient. It will eventually end up in a drawer because I don't mind "fussing" with kefir grains.

Usable
The product is usable. I made kefir without it, used tea steeping balls, etc. This one makes it somewhat easier but not essential. The mesh size is just right, it is a plus. Cleaning is easy. The lid is finicky to close and open. The fishing line is a joke, it comes off easily, difficult to put back on, and does not really help in pulling the unit out because it floats to the top all by itself anyway. A handle would be more useful. Overall, it is just okay and a bit too pricey.

So PERFECT to have the grains ALREADY separated from my finished kefir!!
The "Hardest" part was merely putting the grains in this container --which takes virtually No Time--, since I'd just spent way more than 5 minutes putting all my made kefir into a sieve (which is set into a funnel, dwhich is place into a jar's mouth for my kefir-making) and then patiently scraping the sides of the sieve to get the kefir to fall through, while keeping the grains in the sieve, ......... I just LOVED putting those grains into the fermenter and placing the fermenter into the jar that made the last batch and pouring fresh 1/2 & 1/2 into that jar for my next batch. It's Wonderfully Turn-key & Neat, instead of time-consuming, MESSY.

Useful and convenient
I ordered the large size suitable for a quart jar, which even would work for a 2-quart jar. I may order the next size down since I am the only person consuming milk kefir and my cage is too big for a pint jar. I love the kefir cage which is very handy to remove the grains from the fermented kefir. I also like how it comes completely apart for cleaning. Thanks!!

My milk kefir hates it.
It almost killed my milk kefir when I repeatedly took it out of 1 jar & put in another jar to make a fresh batch. It didn’t make the procedure easier- it made it harder. The grains have no room to grow. I have the large cage. Maybe if you emptied the cage & rinsed the grains it wouldn’t get rancid, but thats more work. Easier to strain with a nylon seive & be done with it.
