Very well designed kit but my seeds are not spouting

This gets 5 stars because it is such an easy way to grow herbs and it's also very pretty.I use it to grow cat grass for my kitten, and it works so well.However my kitten is a demon and has to be supervised when I let him eat the grass as he ends up pulling everything out and making a huge mess.He does this with every pot I've tried, this one is by far the best but still can't resist his mighty paws.So I grow the grass on top of the fridge and once a day I take it down to him for a few minutes and supervise.Those who can't grow seeds with this: maybe you don't have enough sun. I know I don't, and therefore I use a grow light above for a few hours a day. It works like a charm for me. And I don't have to think about how much or how little water I need to put in.I love this thing.FYI: when I received it it looked dirty, I thought it had been used. I contacted the manufacturer and they explained that because of the way it's packed, some of the soil gets everywhere and it's normal. So no need to worry about that.
