Two very large compartments with several small pockets in the front compartment and 2 water bottle pockets on the sides. Only negative is no small zipper pocket on the front for smaller items and they tend to get lost in the bigger compartments.

I bought this to use for store runs when I go out on my electric scooter & it fits a ton of groceries, lol, and it very strong! I’m very pleased with my new backpack.

Love this backpack for my second grader. We had purchased a bentigo one that was entirely too small for usable space because most of it was wasted space on the built in lunchbox. Cool concept but wouldn't even fit her folder. Needing a last minute backpack at the start of school, we ordered this one hoping it would be big enough because the description makes it sound small. It's not. It's also not huge and bulky. Will easily fit a couple of 3 ring binders and some books.

I was looking for a backpack to use when we went on our cruise and use whenever we go hiking or any other place where I could carry the necessary items and this is a perfect roomy bag. I would recommend.
