Plastic Man 5: Archives

More great plastic man.

Jack Cole's "Plastic Man": spawned all sorts of imitations (Mr. Fantastic, the Elongated Man), but the original remains the best. The comic edge to the stories (provided by his sidekick, Woozy) fits rather than detracts from the reader's enjoyment (as it does with the original Green Lantern's similar Doiby Dickles). I bought the whole set of archives as a treat to myself.

This volume of The Plastic Man Archives reprints Plastic Man #4 and the Plastic Man adventures from Police Comics #50 to 58. Plastic Man was the greatest character created by the brilliant cartoonist Jack Cole. Cole had some help with the artwork in these issues, but they are still great. If you like superhero comics with a sense of humor, you should get this book.

These archives from DC are fantastic, I have the originals of the first two issues of Police Comics reprinted in this volume. Jack Cole who created Plastic Man was a brilliant artist and humorist. Lets just face it, Plastic man by all accounts has to be the greatest superhero of all-time. He is virtually indestructable, can shape himself into anything he wants, and has the keenest sense of humor too. Not to mention the groovy dark goggles. Even Batman has said as much.
