Great hardware and still works a year later. That's amazing for made in China which usually breaks within days. Half the price of the Big box stores if you can even find it. I can order with just a few clicks, have it delivered to my farm gate and I don't even need to put clothes on to pick them up!

Very well made mechanisms. They are a somewhat different design than the latch I am replacing on an older guitar case, but they are functionally the same with the twisting side of the latch needing new mounting holes. The 4 parts all felt and looked very close in feel and finish. Often sheet metal parts like these purchased on the big river are cheap knock offs made of thinner metal and are not de burred or cleaned of process materials before plating. These are made of the closest metric sheet metal gauge and were very precisely designed and manufactured. The chrome plating went onto cleaned and deburrd metal and is excellent in evenness and appearance. There is even a little lubricant applied to the areas that slide against each other. A 100% A++ part and at 4 buck each a ridiculous bargain. That is pretty rare these days.

I’ve been a woodworker most life so I have extensive experience with a multitude of hardware. I grew up in Hawaii so rice is a staple in 99% of the meals I eat. I have a custom built drawer in my kitchen that holds 100lbs of rice. There is a sealed lid over the drawer with a hinged door to allow access to the rice but to keep those pesky moths from turning the rice drawer into their summer breeding grounds. I needed something to keep that door tightly sealed, but easily opened daily or multiple times daily. After much research, I picked these latches, and they work perfectly. The spring tension is perfect to keep the drawer tightly sealed, but easily opened.
