Much better results than color chart tests
Works great and much easier than the color chart tests. The liquid reagent though is very sticky and challenging to clean up if you spill it. I started pouring it into a glass before using the syringe. Not easy to use packaging in that part.

Good Magnesium Checker
This one was a little more involved than the alk, PO4 and NO3 checkers but still easy enough to use and great to have a number instead of guessing on standard tests. Helps to gauge when to add more Mg to the system.

This is a easy test with Hanna just read the instructions.

Worthless
This is one of the worse products I have purchased. Several issues of concern identified here. 1. Highly inaccurate. I ran more than 20 test and on the 21st test I was able to receive a reading of less than 1800. sample used for the test were 220 gallon SPS tank, 20 gallon, trident calibration solution all with know values. 2. the syringe attachments do not stay in place on the tips. causing inaccurate draws of solution from the reagents which causes an inaccurate final reading. This is by far the worse kit I've used and that is due to high expectation i've held for Hanna and their products. Is it possible to be refunded, this was a waste of money.

Generously giving it three stars
I have a Hannah alkalinity and phosphate checker and they both are five star products. This magnesium checker is problematic and I think my Salifert mag. checker is much better, easier to use and less expensive. Problems: the reagent bottle leaks, the tips on the syringes come off way too easily, and other brands are easier to use and I believe more accurate too.

Actually works very well!
Love being able to take 5 minutes out of my day to do the test. One tip, set a 30 second timer or the last step and shake vigorously. Then pop into the egg and hold the button till the 3 min counter starts. After 1 min is left open the egg and pull the glass vial out and tilt back n forth to dislodge any bubbles on the glass then pop it back in before the timer ends. That way you'll get a very very close reading if not a perfect reading. This is the new revision and works extremely well..
